Once AGAIN, CIS v5.12 A/V update FAILS

Update FAILED!

So I downloaded the Full CIS A/V defs and installed them in safe mode - per instructions - and found the installed A/V defs = 22569.

:o

REALLY? >:-D >:-D >:-D >:-D

The bottom line: there was NO way to fix this other than import an updated WinXP SP3, i.e., 7.0.31779.x A/V defs after updating v22402 with v22569 and updating then to v22715.

WHY was there NO OTHER WAY of doing that?

2 1/2 year old question, I too have an XP machine and have been running CIS 5.12 (the machine is seldom used) and wondering if there has been a solution to this.
