Configuration Import says it completes successfully, but imports nothing.

Prior to uninstalling 3.0.8, I Exported the configuration.  Even with the default settings of "Train with safe mode" I was getting alerts for applications like Outlook (because of a mobile-phone plugin) and BOC (not sure why...) so I decided to Import the config file.  Went through the process, and it completed successfully.  Checked my rules; nothing had been imported.

In the Release thread it says: Previous configurations exported are not compatible with this one because of the major arhitectural changes. So please try clean install only.
So my gues is you won't be able to import a previous config., hope I'm not wrong...

Guess I should've read the directions, huh?  I grabbed first and asked questions later (since there'd been issues before, I didn't want to be left out).

Thanks for pointing that out,

It seems as if CFP is operating fine only showing 2 Icons in systray

Not sure in 3.0.9 however in 3.0.8 omn my laptop I noticed that only one ICON showed trrafic and I could right click and Exit the inactive one and all seemed normal. I can´t remember what process manager showed I will reproduce the problem and post my analyisis

OD

In these instances, is the firewall still operating normally?  No error messages or other problems? (I know w/2.4, this is an issue)

LM

Seems pretty good to me so far

When I log out of an Admin account and log back in to a user, two(2) Icons for CFP show up in systray. I am not using "fast user switching".  I use a User Account for normal use and do all system maint as an Admin.

I can reproduce this on my laptop with 3.0.8(now downgradeed to CFP2) and have seen this on my desktop with 3.0.8 & 3.0.9

I think I saw this reported in the last version, I have never reported this in the past

If I do a complete reboot such as after an install, and log back in as auser this does not happen

When things go wrong, and they usually will, and your daily road, seems all uphill, when machines are down, and tempers high, when you try to smile, but can only cry,and you really feel you'd like to quit, don't run to me I don't give a sh*t.

Thanks for pointing that out,

LM

You're wellcome.

I have sth to report: High CPU usage running P2P applications, eMule in this case. Big difference between Beta 2 and Beta 3, I couldn't even notice Beta 2 working, now with this version is a whole other story, It is the most CPU time consuming process on my machine -same settings on both betas- and same workload...

-the box is XP SP2 32bit Spanish, Nod32 full, CFP Beta3. eMule is running in Secure Mode with low privileges... any Ideas??

Only a silly thing but after installation on XP Home, SP2, fully patched, I had a system freeze only solved by a forced shutdown.
Cause ( ;D)  Popcap Games - Bookworm!
This game was perfectly OK on the previous beta.
Unistalled the firewall & all works fine now!

Network firewall does not come on (version 3.0.9.229)
« Reply #21 on: September 28, 2007, 05:19:46 PM »
I'm on a Vista 32-bit system, and the firewall part does not work. I get a message "The network firewall is not functioning properly." This is true, because there's no firewall activity. I already tried clean installs and registry cleaners - same result. It tells me to run diagnostics, but then that runs into a critical error.

I see that CFP now includes Comodo Memory Guardian 1.0.1.5 beta.

Why is this not the latest (newer) version 1.0.1.6 beta?

Sorry, my mistake.

This beta is not remembering the size of the Firewall Network Security Policy window if you resize it. The previous betas did. The Defense+ Computer Security Policy window size is remembered.

Ok, so P2P + beta 3 = complete disaster. With 70 connections and 190 kB down/150 kB up, cpf.exe is eating 95% of CPU ([at]2GHz) and the GUI is completely unresponsive. Beta 2 had no problems with this, using around 5% of CPU (underclocked to 1 GHz).

Acer Aspire 1700
Windows XP Home Version 2000 Service Pack 2
Pentium 4 3.06ghz
AVG 7.5 Anti Virus Professional

New problem with this beta  it reads this file in DOS and enters it in defence four times each time I reboot. (Part of AVG 7.5)
C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgamsvr.exe (system not user)
This file is not mention in defence
Found in services.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgupsvc.exe (system not user)
(Only 2 system files running for AVG 7.5)
All user files and other system files have correct path C:\Program Files\

Using windows xp
Avast Home
Superantispyware

So when the first restart came after installing Comodo beta 3, I got a BSOD and had to press the shut down button on my computer tower to restart the computer. The new beta is still kinda noisy, I wouldn't think it'll ask for connections for Avast anymore, but I am happy to see Superantispyware was less noisy through Comodo. Also surfing through videos on youtube was a little slower using Comodo, so far I haven't used it with p2p yet, so I hope that is better too.

+1

Hello, This Beta conflicts with P2P soft, cfp.exe causing 100% cpu usage.
Disable Firewall and Defense+ can not solve problem.
