I hope some improvements have been made to the stateful inspection, logging, and packet filtering controls (tcp flags, MAC addresses, ect.)  I hope this version is not just about graphics and hips. I could care less about the graphics. As for hips my anti-virus/anti-trojan software handles that end just fine.

This version of the firewall engine has significant improvements. Especially the rules engine is improved significantly for ease of use and felxibility.

Hi,
Anyone tried to install it in VM ? It's crashing all the time ^^
Also crashing all the time (XP SP2 in VirtualBox), cmdagent is running without problems (after I start it manualy), but if I try to run the GUI, it will completely crash (including cmdagent). I have send an error report.

:( I was really looking forward for vista support.
since my old laptop gone dead, I'm stuck with windows vista. (too many projects right now, so no format c: for me)

I could try to test it on a VM, but I'm not sure if that would do any good... I see so many "crash" reports on VMs that I don't think that another one would make a diference

anyway... I'll keep on waiting...
best of look with those monsters :P (they have to be more then bugs to keep comodo from releasing the BETA :P hhehehehe)

Ok,

In the beta and following release, WILL Win2K be supported at all ??? Like ever ??? That's what I need to know..... But all you folks that are griping about being "dissapointed", you'd be up in arms and like a crowd of peasents with torches if this was a final and had bugs, wouldn't you ??? Once again, I completely believe that Comodo is just being straight with us !!! So just quit your griping and hang in there !!! Win2k users may not be able to use the new version of CFP at all, BUMMER.... BUT, let Comodo do their work on a FREE security solution and you'll get it... for FREE !!!

But, Comodo, please let us know if there IS going to be Win2k support down the road, ok ???

Many Thanks !!!!

Just curious if "down the road" would be something measured in days, weeks or months?

I understand that WinXP is closer to Server 2K3, so it was probable it wouldn't fit.  Obviously I've taken the WinXP x64 route (as my preferred path to get 4Gb+ RAM support) over Vista.

...So I guess my heads up to give you would be to make sure that the CFP drivers support the memory remapping done on 4Gb+ systems... I've discovered the hard way that not all vendors  (Creative Labs) have done this, which seems to have rendered parts of their drivers unfunctional (Creative Labs)... simple things... like microphones. all those people crying out that they wanted to see vista supported already.... go to ur mom and cry on her shoulder, then come back and say sorry for what you did! The devs op CFP are doing an outstanding job! And look at it this way: They didnt release the vista version yet, just because its not working good yet :) :Beer
