Triple boot: XP SP3, Vista Ultimate 32 SP2 and Win7 RTM (default) , Always the latest CIS or CIS Beta (too lazy to update my sig) Athlon XP 2600 1 GB RAM. Opera Browser always using the latest snapshots; Opera 10.10 as of now

Excellent idea, but it requires a bit more consideration. I've seen products that install in two steps, with one reboot in-between (Daemon Tools is one case in mind, but there are others), so defaulting to normal mode at reboot time may not be a good idea, and I'm not sure how you can handle a timer across a reboot without a lot of overhead… Still, having this kind of ability would be a great help.

Maybe this could be by-passed if the user is in "Installation Mode"?
