While I agree that the concept of Time Machine is better than the sandbox concept (for all the reasons), I also think that these both methods should co-exist. Why? Well, a time machine will do what the name says, a previous state before something happened. A time machine, itself, won't protect against malware. Neither will a sandbox, for that fact. But, what a sandbox will do, is to try to prevent malware from getting into the system, in the first place.

I think that, first sandbox method, then time machine.

What do you guys think?

Of course we're only speculating on what exactly Time Machine is.Since it's superceding both the Diskshield and the planned sandbox,it's safe to assume it'll contain elements of them both. Wink

I would like to see a "FREE" low on resources program that scans for every type of bad, nasty things that can make it's way onto ones system. I would like it to be one that can be set to automatically check at a time specified by the user and also check for updates in the same manner. No bells, horns or whistles, just a simple to install and use programs that does it all. They say this can't be done in today's computing environment, but that is what I would like to see.

Thanks

The nearest thing to what you describe would be the next version(or possibly the one after for complete functionality) of CIS.

Yes, I would love to see a FREE program that scans your pc for missing drivers and or updated drivers and such.....

It could be integrated in some products of Comodo, like CSC and CVA for example.....

Thank you! it seems a nice product, but I do not want system resources taken by it, I already have system optimizers on my machine.... But I want someday to completely switch to Comodo System Cleaner....

And, personally, I would like to see Comodo focused on the security field. Smiley

This issue has been brought up numerous times about how COMODO should just stick to firewalls, then just firewalls and HIPS, now just security. Not only does COMODO care about creating a trusted internet, but they care just as much about giving the user products to keep themselves safe as well as keeping a healthy PC.

COMODO knows what they can handle.  Smiley

True, but I believe that keeping my machine up to date with all drivers is a part of my whole security

What I would like, in fact, Comodo to develop, and that would be, indirectly, related to system security, would be a process tamer. How so? Let's imagine that a certain process starts to use, for example, way lot CPU, it would make the system crawl and the user would be able to do nothing. That process could be a form of malware.

It would be some sort of CPU firewall.

I don't know how doable it would be, but it's a suggestion.

It's eminently doable, there's a product called Process Lasso that does this.
