Comodo should offer webhosting..
They already seems experienced in this area since they got ssl certificates (rare).
And are used to somewhat heavy traffic, (this site, and all the DLs of comodo CIS).
Iam sure Comodo got in house expertise in this area.

This hosting should be known to be SAFE, as this is comodo's main area.
And keeping everything uptodate, I hate my webhost, they still uses PHP 4 and an old version of Mysql.

Keeping me restricted to old functions. Also comodo is known for its security, something many webhosts is not, I would feel confident hosting a page at comodo, wouldnt you? anyway....

just a thought. What do you think?  Tongue

Yes, C-O-M-O-D-O must come with webhosting services, these services should be divided in FREE hosting services and paid hosting services, this way Comodo can earn extra money to achieve its goal!

Eh, i'm not so happy on this one..

Comodo is a security company not a hosting company,
Unless comodo, has enough people laying around(which i highly doubt) then they could buy some servers,
and offset them away from the databases and where they host this forum, and their websites so it doesn't affect
the quality of their products/bandwith...

Still disagree on this one

Jacob,

They would have to buy more servers add in new routers, new network, how would this help achieve it's goal?
by getting in people who waste the options of a free hosting service, but i may be wrong

They can get in the field of secure hosting..... and by adding more services to their services portofolio, comodo can gain revenue out of these new services like hosting.... More money, means, more means to create a trusted internet....

Where IT is, there is Security..... and you know, IT is evrywhere.... Wink

Jacob,

Yes, I have no problem if they do not do it for free. They already give so much for free, and this is another kind of offering, this is service, so they can have a different business model about services...

It is up to Comodo, how they look up to this, they do not have to do evrything for free... I personally do not like that idea also....

But I agree with you on the question if this has to be free....

My personal opinion is, to have the free services stuff, very, very limited.....

Limited, is good...

Maybe add a feature to back up to allow people to share thier uploads?

Jacob,

Yes, I support your idea.. I think Comodo already has a Free online Backup service running, but it has to be worked out more.....

Maybe, they need to merge the online backup service with future hosting service.....

Maby this idea was sucky.
I was mostly thinking that this could bring some money to be putted in to CIS!  Bounce Bounce

Of course they need to charge some for hosting.
As Traffic costs, A lot.

Millions of dollars have already been put into CIS.
