I guess the user wants an option to interrupt the started automatic update.
Let's ask Jopi...

YES Solarlynx !
That is what I am looking for ; a possibility to STOP the contact with the updating procedure, that takes all of my CPU-power and so disturbes my other contact for at least 5 min.,
...where after that contact is gone...

I know that you guys (=Valentin N, EricJH and You, Solarlynx) can solve this problem !
With hopefully regards from Jopi.

So the wish is an option to stop a started update. I support it as well - a nice idea indeed - sometimes I need it as well.

As for your current state - you have two alternatives:
1) Update the antivirus just before you heavily use your comp. Then you must consider that automatic updates are performed in about 30 minutes intervals - so you are free from trouble for half an hour.
2) Disable automatic updates and make manual updates when it cannot trouble your work. So you must constantly keep in your mind that the antivirus needs updating. In the case of Comodo it is not dangerous if you forget to update for maybe a couple of days (it is difficult to estimate) because the antivirus component is only the last line of protection. Unfortunately it is not very convenient - you can't do it from the tray icon. I have on one my comp Kaspersky with disabled automatic updates and make them manually from the tray icon by one click - less frequently than once a day - and no problems. So it brings us to the second wish:
3) Comodo, please make us an option to manually update virus definitions from the tray icon just by one click. I think it will be useful for many users.

One Comodo Updater that all CIS/CD/CB/CPM etc. can all rely on, instead of individual updaters hogging up background services.

Is this possible?

Unfortunately COMODO's separate updaters are too often such a torture...
I'm afraid a united updater will be born dead.  Sad
