To submit a malware samples to 31 AV companies you should download a program called X-Ray. Read through that page carefully before configuring the program. It will work best if you make a free account with VirusTotal. That's not necessary, but will help if you use the program often. Make sure that you also configure it to work with your email address as not all AV companies allow the files to be submitted online.

Another way to upload malware to 50 antiviruses can be found here. A list of who the sample will be sent to is given on this page. However, I noticed that some of the vendors listed are no longer in business, thus I'm not sure how useful this service actually is.

Here is a list of all of the AV's and anti-malware products that I could find. I promise you that every one of these is not a rogue, but I do not make any assertions here as to their effectiveness. Some of them are very good while others are almost worthless.

In addition to listing the products I have also tracked down the email addresses, web submission forms, support pages, forums, etc for as many of them as I could find. If you are ever infected with malware it is always best to ensure that you will be protected should it ever return. Also, if a file on your system is being incorrectly classified as malware you should submit it to your AV as a false positive. When submitting samples through email put them in a password protected zip file with the password 'infected' and label the subject of the email as 'Suspicious File Submission' or 'False Positive Submission'. The same is true if the submission form you are linked to has a subject line, only you don't have to put the sample in a password protected folder.

Please let me know of any major companies that I have left out. I am only interested in the relatively robust security applications. Also let me know if any of the links, or email addresses, do not work as intended or you know how to submit samples to one of the companies that I couldn't find where to submit samples. I haven't tried them all myself, so I welcome, and need, your feedback.

In addition to this I will note that if you find a malicious website you can report these to badwarebusters.

I have attached to the bottom of this post a text file with the email addresses for 45 of these anti-malware companies. Just copy it and you can easily submit a malicious file to 45 anti-malware vendors. Have fun.

Avira, Sophos, CA (Computer Associates), F-Prot, G-Data, Twister, Malwarebytes, SAS, Drive Sentry, Vipre....

Some more anti-malware rather than anti-virus, but is there a differance!

Nice list Chiron, good work  Thumb Up

Thank you for pointing this out to me. I've now added the email address to the list.

I had been operating under the assumption that if I could find a web submission form I didn't need to include an email address, but if you believe it to be useful I have no problem including them.

Please let me know of any others that you also feel should have an email address provided.

Thanks, I've included the products from that list and updated the formatting of this post as well (and the title). I just hope the email addresses from that list are still valid. I included the web submission forms if I could find them, but some I couldn't find so I had to use the email addresses from the list. Thanks again.

There, I've finished tracking down every vendor I could find. I dare anyone to find a longer list (because I'll then copy it and expand mine Grin).

Let me know if there's any I've missed.

Why. You have given me much more information then I had. Of course if the page had had more than I had before you sent me it I might be hunting you down, but it didn't. (Lucky you Wink)

Do you know of any other antiviruses. Also, I'm now incorporating both the web submission forms and the email addresses, if I can find them.

Thanks.

Wink,
let me think *thinking *crash *reboot *ok Cheesy

ok i know i will regret this but i make a list now... Cheesy
if you want to you can take the link to every thing directly or you only take the board themselfs...
i have a new objective i bring this list to perfection with you Smiley
i think its time to make this list not only for submition but for everything about the products from submition, to support,
to feature request and so one that would make this list perfect and show them that comodo is community powered Wink
i also addet firewalls to the list because they are security software to and the javacoolsoftware and spybot are maleware and suspicuse websites.
i addet security blogs to and beta ares and so one but i am not finished jet i have about 40% done i think now its up to you to make the list readabel Wink

We need a fu ... wiki Cheesy
i think i talk to melih about that.
