HI!

VE has to have a database wich includes bad websites, so when visiting such a site you will see a red border and a soundalert!! makes internet much safer.

ok, have a nice day.

I would guess this would mean having a blacklist of known phishing sites for example, in addition to the whitelist of verified sites.

VE checks the website you see and if it is the right website it gives a green border. But if I am on a phisingsite it doesn't say anything. VE must have a blacklist or something. Now, VE must check also sites wich contains malware and has to warn you for sites that are using drive by download code.

ok, hope i explained myself better.

Have a nice day.

Re: Dual Monitor/Screen Error

I recently installed VEngine... love it! But one minor hiccup occurs which I'm sure can be fixed.

I have dual screens with my main desktop on the left and when I surf with firefox on the right screen and the green verification border pops up on the left screen it looks a bit odd.  Although it works okay if I move firefox to the left screen, obviously.

This led to confusion when I had firefox opened on both screens and couldnt work out which window it was verifying.

The mouse trail action works fine on the right but the window border it's just not right (pun)... I mean ithe right hand screen.

Anyone seen this before and know of a possible fix to this?

My three wishes...

Wish 1

I only want VE to check certain sites (3 sites in total).

I would like to be able to...

  • Disable 'Verify all VE supported sites'.
  • Enable 'Verify only selected sites'.
  • Click 'Add'.
  • Enter the URL's.
  • Click 'Apply'.
  • Click 'OK'.

If VE doesn't support a URL I typed, I would like to be alerted/warned, "Sorry, Verification Engine doesn't currently support that particular site. Please report it at blah blah blah [ LINK ].".

Wish 2

I would like VE to be able to Disable Audio from my Web Browser every time it verifies a site if the 'Use audio verification' is selected.  (Extra security)

Then I could Disable the Visual Screen Border and rely on Audio Verification only.

Wish 3

Manual Verification.

I would like to do an 'On Demand Verification' of a site. What I mean is; I would like to follow these steps in this order:

IMPORTANT: In this scenario, 'Verify all VE supported sites' is Disabled and the site I am about to visit is not listed in my 'Select sites' list. But I would like VE to check it. Here's what I do...

  • I open my Web Browser.
  • Browse to PayPal. (I accidentally type the URL wrong, but see what looks like a PayPal login page.)
  • I left-click the 'VE System Tray icon' Once and the site I'm on is then verified. (PayPal is verified.)
  • The Screen Border does not light up as I realise I am on a Scam site.

Or, as an alternative, the URL is automaticaly added to my 'Selected sites' list on the 'System Tray left-click'; so the 'System Tray icon' becomes a little bit like an 'Add to favourites' button). Then I can just move the Mouse Pointer over the Banner as we normaly do to verify that the PayPal site is a Scam site.

I never uninstalled CVE, just killed the program during startup.  The program (I think) integrated with my browser, due to the sites still being verified by CVE, even though the main program is no longer loading at Windows startup.
