The registration/licensing process asks for a MAC address, but does not say for what.  I picked one and hoped to get a license, but have not seen anything yet.  What can I do to get license for TEF?

MAC address is for licensing process.  Need to submit Firewall server WAN ethernet(eth0) MAC address. You will receive a license via E-mail. And install that license from firewall client. scenarios for bringing up firewall.

I just received my licesne via email, it says its only good for 1 year. Will this cost anything after the 1st year??

Trustix Enterprise Firewall license is free. You can get the new free license subsequently.
