How to Search the forums
« on: October 10, 2007, 03:09:26 PM »

As of the date of this post, our forum Search feature doesn't seem to fully function the way it should.  This makes it difficult for everyone to find relevant posts and results in a lot of duplication.  Here's a quick "How to" that should help.

Rather than using the regular Search field, click on the "Advanced Search" link next to the Search button.

Input your search terms in the normal field.  You may also include a specific author's name (User name) instead of the default wildcard (*).

Then check the box, "Search in topic subjects only" (it's empty by default).

You may narrow search results by selecting specific boards to search in, or leave the default of "Check all." You may also change some options for how results are displayed - relevancy, largest thread, etc.

This should help get some better results than just using the standard Search field.
