I have installed  Comodo twice and removed it once - becoming frustrated with the long periods of waiting for anything to happen  just anything

I wonder if anybody has ideas about the setup required to make it run as fast as McAfee and the like

May I ask why you needed to uninstall CFP? The uninstallation is flawless for most users.
