I posted earlier in another topic about the fabulous firewall not giving any alerts when there are attacks taking place being mean enough not to express some gratitude to the people who have made this wonderful product and that too Free!!

A BIG THANK YOU for your wonderful efforts guys!!!!!! Finally i have bid farewell to Sygate after 3 1/2 years of use. I have a feeling i'm never gonna move on from Comodo!!

I just installed Comodo because I ran the Matousec scripts and my firewall failed early. Something I noticed right away: when I launch an applican Comodo assumes it is safe (because the user initiated it?) and allows that appp access to the network? This seems like a real bad idea for a firewall. I looked around and found that there is a way to add an executable to the permanent block list. BUT, to have a firewall that by default assumes that I want every program I initiate to be allowed access to the network/internet is a serious security fudge-up. Example: Windows media player access windows servers to 'check for updates' whenever you pause along w/ 2 other instances during a normal usage. This is a serious problem! Why would I want a .doc file to silently access anything other than input from my keyboard?

By default, v3 installs with the following settings: 

Firewall = Train with Safe Mode.  This means that it uses the list of known safe applications embedded in the FW (encrypted, digital fingerprint of each application) to run, and Learns this activity to create rules on behalf of the user.  WMP is an example of that.

HIPS = Clean PC Mode.  This takes the approach that you do not install on a machine  that has any suspect files on it.  Thus, it applies the list of known safe applciations to Learn their behavior and create rules for the user.  In addition, all executables present on the system when v3 is installed are considered to be safe as well (after all, you already had them on a machine that should be clean).

If you don't want the firewall or HIPS to make these decisions for you, there are tighter settings available with a simple adjustment to the slider control.

I have reviewed and tried others (firewalls) over the past couple of weeks.  From what I can tell, Comodo rocks!  It has received awesome reviews and I like the way it operates.  Back to the subject at hand.....YES, to any tools out there that help legitimize or validate....  "are you who you say you are".... that would be very helpful. - sorting by name apps in Firewall Network Security Policy and in Defence+ Computer Security Policy
- depending tray icons on security level of Firewall and Defence+

Version 3 works fine, but I hate the Vista look. I want no skins, so the app looks like whatever theme XP is currently using. I would prefer OS windows instead of the built in gui look.

Right click "scan here" option in CFP, To only scan specific files and folders.
Make it easier to see if the connection you are about to allow is a server type connection, and whether local or Wan.

Iam very disatisfied with the services i have received, i purchased a Unified Communications SSL certificate, after installing it  step by step  the certificate didnt work. The technical team is not helpful at all and they sound bored both on email and on phone. I have had my services  down for a whole afternoon as the certificate was missing a private key ( not sure if its my fault) but i thought a good technical team should take me step by step.
 I still have not seen the value of what i purchased. I wouldnt recommend Comodo SSL cert to anyone.
