after using CTM 2.9 beta for a while my system feels noticeably slower over time. I just uninstalled CTM and ran a defrag and my system was 49% fragmented. CTM needs a feature that disables the protection to allow the user to do maintenance such as defragging then allow the user to reenable the protection once finished
IMHO all maintenance must be done before installing CTM. You can't disable then reenable the protection. Only irreversible shift of the baseline is possible to discard the changes.

I saw how CRD 1.0 Beta looks like and got the idea that CTM 3.0 or 4 can use similar technology; it can have it's own very small OS and make snapshot that way, this will prevent rootkit to harm it. Just an idea.

I think Comodo is a great product especially since it is free, we use it on our public computers and have set to restore on reboot. The only request I have, is to add more command line management so that I can create scripts to automate the installation and configuration of CTM. I'm currently doing this with AutoIT, but I would prefer to do everything with the cmtcmd. I noticed several posts about better protection against rootkits and malware; however I have not seen any posts about the type permissions assigned to the user running the infecting malware. Nor have I seen any post mentioning rootkit/malware infections with CTM and Windows 7. So are systems running Windows 7 under a standard user with a clean snapshot in CTM getting infected? I have not noticed this in our environment, once one of our systems gets infected, a simple reboot removes it. To be fair though, I have not dug into the system afterwards.

Wouldn't this CTM boot disk be a great way to externally store snapshot data? Idea

I didn't really think of it as Bootable cd, but very small OS, with its only purpose to make snapshot, run along side Windows. I can't remember if Windows 8 will allow that; I read somewhere that machines that run windows will only be able to run windows due to bios restriction. It has to do with windows new way to protect against malware.

hey [at]all Comodo-friends,

i am very excited on CTM V3.

i hope that snapshots could be exported on removable media.
also i wish the boot-menu has the complete functionality as CTM has on Windows.

but, the update-feature could be removed, i think... Wink

only one thing too improve "german language", as well CMT 2.9 was definitly too slow

thank you,
CTM-FAN
