Question: Do you want that Comodo Time Machine continue to be developed?
Yes, please, save and keep the technology on.
No. It's not necessary, I'll use whatever Microsoft make for Windows 8.
Never mind, I use other product (concurrence).

This looks identical to an older version of Rollback RX...

That's because it is. Eaz-Fix, Rollback Rx and AyAyRecovery are the same. There have been a few others with differing names. The folks at Eaz-Fix tell me they(Eaz-Fix) are the original. Rx users claim Horizon tells them that Rx is the original. I couldn't care less who is. I'm still satisfied with CTM.

I think a big thank you should go to Tech for not giving up on CTM and showing how much everyone loves and want Comodo to bring CTM back. Thank you Tech! We always listen to our users.

Well, as soon he is ready, let's open the discussions. The sooner to discuss, the better the development goes. As time goes by, it's difficult to change "the way things go...".

In fact, today I've discovered a software to test applications that does not require a boot to install: Toolwiz Time Freeze (http://www.toolwiz.com/). Difficult to find more info. I've tested it in Virtualbox and worked perfectly. All other things (website, etc.) are being build. I do not know more about the reputation of the software. There are some threads in Wilders also. It's not a snapshotting software. But works until boot for everything that gets virtualized. Hope they do not transform the tool into a shareware in the future...

Hi Tech,
Persistence sometimes does pay Thumb Up.
You cannot imagine how happy I'm on this Saturday night Smiley
My dream right now is to integrate CTM with CDE and CB. We cannot use two applications in the MBR. CTM needs to be at control, but we cannot encrypt the drive (with CDE) or use some backup tools (like Acronis True Image, for instance) because they use the MBR also.

Right now, the owner of my MBR is TrueCrypt...

hopefully razvan, like you said, discusses his ideas so development goes well. i would really like to see cde and ctm integrated since, it seems like cde isnt being developed anymore or its in a deep sleep like ctm was in

Hi Melih,  Smiley

how are ye doin', ol' friend of mine?  Wink
Remember me, maybe?  Grin

Having once given the original name assumption for that very proggie CTM (when it was not even born) in... well... archaic forum times,

https://forums.comodo.com/which-product-do-you-want-comodo-to-develop-next/which-product-to-develop-next-t125.0.html;msg100884#msg100884

I'm really glad to see how many of those nowadays nerds, geeks and noobs, Comodo freaks etc.  Evil are kneeling down to see that very prog being revived.  Cry  Wink

Lil' story:
Some days after my initial assumption I recognized, that Apple now had used the same term for a similar program they had developed. I thought they obviously had stolen the name from our forum. Guess... I dared not speaking it out loud...
Just a few days later I found out that they officially dated back the release of the Apple Time Machine ... well ... back in time?  Sad
Now -  as an afterthought? -  it's release day was supposed to have been the very day before I posted my name proposal here at the Comodo forum. I don't really remember, where I read about this, maybe on Wikipedia, but might as well have been on an official Apple site...
ONE DAY pre-dated, after weeks, this I remember thus far.
One should really care about such things... me(now)thinks.
Rest assured: It is NOT (you know me that much from old times, I guess) that I'd ever want money from Apple.
No.
No way.  Grin

I'm still MorphOS REBOL, as you knew me then...  Wink

But I am rather sure they stole the name from us THEN, and used it for a proggie they'd already developed.
And now, looking back on the presumed release date of that 10.5 Apple OS...

wtf. I am just sad. A heavy-weight commercial company. Apple.
I can only state that neither THEN nor NOW I'd ever be(en) an Apple user...
Just to confirm my statement: No one THEN (here at our forum) had ever mentioned that there was already another Prog (ct. of APPLE) going by that very name.
I am rather sure: someone would have flamed me.
Also interesting (maybe) :
APPLE seems to never ever have accused COMODO for having used / using the name TIME MACHINE for a very similar kind of program...

From where did this name erupt in my mind?
Well, let me tell ya. It was that very old movie "Time Machine" with all those Morlocks etc. I'd seen when being a child. It was one of my favourite movies in the Seventies.

Please forgive me. My nowadays capabilities of handling the English tongue have to be called: horrible. I did not post for the last two years.

Greetings from an old German.
Hope you get it.

And thanks for still being Melih.  Smiley

Have a fine beer with me one day? (We promised eachother long time ago...)

Greetz from Bavaria.

REBOL.

This is great news guys.  A March initial release is much sooner than I expected.  Melih, thank you for keeping such a rare piece of software alive!

That's what I love about Comodo, the fact that end-users can have a say and the people on top will listen.  I wish more company CEOs were as as approachable and unpretentious as Melih and the rest of the Comodo people...  Thumb Up Thumb Up

Interesting thoughts REBOL...  Pre-dating the release of a program so it looks like it was actually released one day before the day its name was born in this very forum...  I really don't know what to make of it but it's intriguing indeed.

If you ever come to London REBOL, I'll certainly have one (or more) beers with you mate!  If Melih comes we'll book a whole pub for him!  Lets have our first ever London Comodofest event!

Yes we want to control MBR with CTM, pls make sure to put all your requirements in a wishlist and make sure Razvan is aware of it.

thanks
