A quick question:

I have 3 computers; a desktop running Windows 7 x64, a laptop running Windows 7 x32, and a company laptop running Windows XP SP3 x32.

Based on the discussions in this thread, I'm supposed to install the latest 2.8 (this thread) for the XP, but the latest 2.9beta for the 7. Amirite?

im pretty sure that it does backup/restore the MBR. Im not to familiar with clonzilla so im not exactly sure of all its features and functionality.

    2.8 is way better in my win7 64bit testing.  2.9 backup can take an hour. 2.8 two minutes. Plus I had mouse jitter in 2.9. It could of been related to the free version of Trust Connect from Comodo.   Just 2.8 now . No problems and a guarantee should something go wrong. Get 2.8 now.

There is a pretty serious issue that some users are experiencing during uninstall or the situation that their disk is 'full' with version 2.8.
Please make sure you have off-system backups of your data.

If I install 2.8, and if things break or go wrong, and if the CTM 2.8 uninstall fails, how can I clean up and restore my MBR, hardrive and W7 to it's original and normal state?

do you have a windows 7 repair disk and install disk?

I tried installing CTM 2.8 but it refused to install falsely claiming I have TrueCrypt installed, which I DO NOT have installed, I only have a TrueCrypt container.  But I removed the container so I can install, but then it said, "COMODO Time Machine can not initialize operating system information"

So I then  tried 2.9Beta which installed, but when laptop reboots, it just sits at a black screen with a flashing cursor.

Hope v3.0 won't have these bugs/glitches/problems.

    Can you use Alt F10 or whatever your system reinstall key combination is?   Is the notebook fixed?

im sure this will be fixed in v3. Remember the next version is rearchitectured to fix some major bugs in the previous versions.
