32 Bit XP SP2
CFP 3.0.25.378

I thought it might've been WindowBlinds, but I even excluded CRC executables - didn't make a difference.  Resizing/maximing the GUI didn't fix it.  The only thing I can think of that's causing the GUI problems is I'm @ 120 DPI.  The screenshot is only a sample.  The other screens aren't that much prettier.

Win XP Home SP3 32 Bit
CRC 1.0.12.15 rc
CIS BETA

When I clean my registry including In-Depth search, I have problems with my HP Photosmart C4180 All in One.

I get screens instructing me to Inslall  "ScannerCopy" and "Documentviewer". When I insert my HP All In One Installation cd, the error is corrected.

I have Unchecked all things related to HP in the InDepth screen and everything is well now.  (:LGH)

You should post a screen shot of the unchecked keys, so Comodo can fix this easier.

A very BIZZar bug. And not a clue as to why??

I have been testing Comodo products for a while and this bug happened the first time I tried CRC Beta. No biggy but I figured it was just a workout during the beta progress.

Digg this

When I am running CRC 1.0.12.15 RC and I click on the Settings link in the Miscellaneous page this happens....

Ok, Running "Process Explorer (x64)" in the background I get this info,
Memory strings from both CRC and the Settings file.
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f293f56c1a9c4b5fd2db6fb9a8902bda

The "Settings.exe" app is in the "SYSWOW64" folder and is used to change or configure your OP SYS ownership. It's a small app created by a O.S. customizing group.
I changed the name from "Settings.exe" to "Settings.exe.old" and CRC no longer tries to open it, It then just opens the CRC settings page.

OS: Windows XP Pro 32bit
App: Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1302.1081
Scan: In-depth Search
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MessengerService
Value Name: InstallationDirectory

Bug/Problem:
CRC deletes the above Value Name forcing Messenger Live to reinstall itself upon initial load.

It's a very bizarre case since my Value data points to: C:\Program Files\Messenger\
Yet the actual directory is located: C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\

CCleaner & Glarys which I also use does the same thing but that resulted in me ignoring quite a few entries but thanks to CRC I was able to narrow it down to the above (:LOV)

Cheers,

Phil

  Hi  ,
We found out what happened . An older version of Windows Live Messenger doesn't exist anymore. That invalid key is related with that older version .  The new version  needs the old version  or at least, the key related with the old one . We ignored the key  because it's a simple exception of this application .

Following registry entry is being flagged as invalid:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Value:KernalFaultCheck

Data value
%systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

Export of this registry entry follows
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

"KernelFaultCheck"=hex(2):25,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,72,00,6f,\
  00,6f,00,74,00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,\
  5c,00,64,00,75,00,6d,00,70,00,72,00,65,00,70,00,20,00,30,00,20,00,2d,00,6b,\
  00,00,00

All other entries are of type REG_SZ. This entry is of type REG_EXPAND_SZ.
This is a valid key.

Edit:
The entry to run the program "dumprep" does not include ".exe". I added that to the registry entry and CRC no longer complains about this entry. I didn't think the ".exe" was needed.

Bug report for:
CRC_Setup_1.0.12.15_2k_XP_Vista_Server2003_x32_x64_RC.exe

Problem
1. Install CRC above
2. RunCRC
3. Scan My Registry
4. Clean Registry
Then you will loose your ability to defrag HDD.

CRC should not clean this registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\DefragPath]

If you allow CRC to delete this  registry, then you will loose the "Defragment Option" in "My Computer":-

DoubleClick "MyComputer"->Right Click "C:" Drive ->Properties->Select Tools Tab
You will now notice that the "Defragment Now" pushbutton is grayed out and cannot be used.

Recreating the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\DefragPath]
[at]=hex(2):25,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,72,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\
  00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,64,00,66,00,\
  72,00,67,00,2e,00,6d,00,73,00,63,00,20,00,25,00,63,00,3a,00,00,00

will fix it.
