So, if Mike Burgess MVP (aka. WinHelp2002) is so meticulous about such things himself (ie. not pedaling rougeware, protecting us users, etc), then why has his MVP Profile been showing him as being a Global Administrator for a site name that GoDaddy sold off to the highest bidder many, many months ago?

Warning: The highlighted URL in Mike's profile is a rouge site now, the SpyWareInfo forums (a really good site) is now hosted here: http://www.spywareinfoforum.info/

Did anyone inform Mike Burgess about him helping a malware site?  (or you can write a blog about it first without informing him, as he does Smiley ) but you should inform him asap so that he can stop leading people to this malware site. I am sure its unintentional on his side, but something he should have caught pretty early on and not months after. As an MVP people will take his signature seriously and get harmed. He does have a habit of missing things though;)

Hey Donna

Why don't you blog about this?

Rouge Registry Repair! Veirsign does it again! Are they to blame? No. Are Comodo to blame? No. There are no Standards for DOMAIN VALIDATION (See the blue bar) - And even if you or your guys say "Set a Example" or Comodo to stop selling DV's them selves, They can't! Because other CA's are doing it, Comodo stops... Comodo loses BIG Revenue... Comodo then can't provide protection to end users for free! and so on.

So WHY not blog about this? Quite frankly, I'm really over this... And I am sure Melih is too.

Does ANYONE agree to lock this thread? (Since we know now it's not Just Comodo, But Donna spreading misleading and lies about Comodo... The evidence is here and on Donna's Blog.

Cheers,
Josh

Has Mike Burgess stopped sending traffic to malware sites?

we need to make sure he does. Can someone confirm that he has now realised and fixed his signature and no longer pointing to malware sites or showing as he is the moderator of a spyware site in his signature? Once we confirmed he has fixed that, then we can lock it.

Well I tried to tip him off about it by posting it somewhere where he has many friends:
http://malwareremoval.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=44632&start=15#p458220

It would seem that the message has not been passed on though, as the rogue site is still there on his MVP profile.

maybe we should put it in the blog where he was having a go at Comodo?

Not much point really.   I think he has stopped reading the comments there as he said he had better things to do.

SpeedyPC, there never was a war.  A number of people who believe they make a difference, decided to single out Comodo as a bad guy.

They seem to believe all the problems regarding DV certificate issuance are solely Comodos problem. Of course its not, it's an industry problem.

It's sad to say, but this small band of people, apparently professionals, who mostly post on each others blogs have nothing better to do.

Considerable evidence has been promoted here and on other blogs  regarding the situation, first exposed on winhelp2002's blog. These other blogs, well, they have their own ideas.

And to be honest you can see from winhelp2002  comment:

Quote
blaming Verisign is not a solution, and the truth is in my research chasing these type culprits I see a Comodo certificate most of the time ...

With that said ... this is going nowhere and I've got better things to do ...

It never was a war, it's a campaign by a small group of insignificant people to discredit Comodo.
