Not trying to butt in, but it would be nice to see if those 6 avast detection were files which you have trusted in Comodo or if they are f/p if so they don't count.

You should have scanned them with malwarebytes or something that's a strong secondary opinion scanner to see if they not just traces or temporary. If so they can't do anything.

They were not trusted files.  They were simply missed by CIS.  And to be fair, when I was using Microsoft Security Essentials awhile back, it never saw those files either.

Also, I agree with Eric, a Detection test is nothing compared to prevention. If you can have the best hips and sandbox out there and nothing can hurt your system, who cares about the detection tests if the av doesn't catch it, the sandbox, or better yet the new sandbox in 6.0 will stop it.

I agree prevention is great, but detection is also important for what may not have been prevented.

Let me make this clear once again...

I want to see CIS do well in the tests I mentioned!!!

And these are not obscure tests.  The VB100 is highly regarded but CIS has only passed it ONE time.  AV-TEST is also highly regarded.

And that is where you fail.  Protection is low in the tests I mentioned.

It's puzzling to me how people have the attitude that, when they like something, that a test that says it is not good is a bad test.
I thought I wasting my time posting Sad

Sorry I never said they where bad tests Sad

I hope you find the product you are looking for that passes all your real tests, and you never are infected.

Good luck

If you don't like it test it for yourself, or youtube it maybe?

As Eric said someone tested 15,000 pieces of malware at the new sandbox and nothing got passed, if it were the sandbox now I would say over 98% of it wouldn't get passed. Also from personal tests it gets almost perfect, same with many tests youtube, even sometimes it does get perfect.

Honestly this is why I never look at sites for results, always look at trusted youtube videos e.g. languy. Or personal tests.

.. Go to http://forum.avast.com/index.php and search for matousec... ENJOY!
Invitation accepted and it was most enlightening..

I have been having an "entertaining" conversation on the COMODO forum...

http://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/should-i-be-worried-because-i-am-t82615.0.html

It got to the point where Matousec, which I hadn't heard of until it was mentioned in that thread, brought me to the avast! forums.

Those guys hold up that Matousec test like a golden specter.

Thank you for educating me on just how ridiculous Matousec is.

I have been using avast! on my Android so I decided to install the latest version on my Windows 7 64-bit SP1 PC.  I had ran a full scan earlier with CIS and it found no problems.  After installing avast!, I ran a full scan while I was away from home.  When I returned, it had found 6 malware items (attached photo).

And on that note I think the OP is done "entertaining" here. He's installed another product, which he seems happy with and I'm sure we wish him all the best. But, I cannot currently see any benefit to keeping this topic open any longer.

Topic locked. Please PM an on-line Moderator if you have a compelling reason to unlock this topic, thanks.

edit: correction on status of image with the 6 avast! detections apparently not detected by CIS.
