Hope I am "on topic," posting this 4.0 question here.
I requested the check for updates from COMODO UI and was offered an update, half an hour ago, and accepted it; then the Details link presented me the 4.0 what's-new page, so I accepted the installation and it ran, and it announced itself complete.
Checked for updates again and was assured that there are none, now.

However, in Miscellaneous/About, I am advised that I have v3.14.130099.587. I was expecting to have 4.0.x.x, after that automatically installed update.

Ran the Diagnostics from the  Miscellaneous interface, and it reported that there were "problems." I authorized the fixing of the problems, and then it reported that it could not fix some of the problems.

I accepted the proffered report of diagnosis, and am attaching that, a text file, albeit with a .doc extension.

This seems to be a compilation of various lists of files, and I cannot see that it identifies the said problems.
Is it that Comodo has not yet set up the automatic updating of existing 3.14?

I should also admit that I inadvertently committed the newbie's active Windows firewall sin. Mea culpa.

Please advise what to do next, O Ye Comodo Cognoscenti.

The V3.X to V4.X update has not yet been released. That is still a few weeks off yet.

My recommendation would be to download the current installer to your hard drive. Disconnect from the internet and, while offline, do an uninstall of the existing install. After rebooting, run the installer that you downloaded and reinstall. Reboot and, if OK, go back online.

I realise this is a long winded way round things, but it is, IMHO, the safer way to get back to a presumed stable point.

Hope this helps,
Ewen :-)

Excellent! Thanks! Now for an additional link: the AV database. The online installer downloads that as a matter of course, and it's bigger by far than either of the offline install packages. If you don't want to hog your 'net connection after deployment, you must be able to d/l the latest file just once.
pszwarc, not sure you are asking a question, but here is the link to the AV DB.  http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/updates/vdp/database.php
Enjoy, John.

EDIT: Question:  Why no announcement for 4.0.138377.779?Huh?
