I have Windows 7 but I can't post a screenshot of the Task I have created  now because I'm not at home. Tonight perhaps or "as soon as possible".

The newest Process Hacker, v2.25. Just ordinary 'Terminate', not 'Terminator' option by right-click menu.
I can reproduce this on Windows XP x86, stock config!!

Hi,

With this last version, I have a problem : When I create new scheduled tasks (antivirus task), after a reboot of the computer (and after a hibernate of the computer), I loss the new tasks. I have the two standard tasks (by default).    Angry

Sorry for my english.    Smiley
I tested this on Win 7 x86 and rebooted but I could not reproduce.

What I did notice was that after installing program update CIS changed back settings:
  • Show traffic animation again
  • reinstate the two weekly scans

Does always erase your scheduled and does it always put back the weekly scans when you reboot or hibernate?

Okay, my questions in post #129 seem to have caused no excitement.  Grin

Anyhow, just clean installed 5.9 with EPM turned on in Defense+ and no blue screens! Elves have fixed something, haven't they? In October when I upgraded to 5.8 I couldn't turn on EPM without getting BSODs (with no imported config from previous version). Full bug report submitted at the time.

Just for fun I imported my 5.8 config into 5.9 and turned on EPM... BSODs came back immediately.  Shocked   Reverted to 5.9's config and BSODs cured again.  Cool

Trouble with importing old config anyway is that each upgrade adds tweaks (found two new Protected Registry Keys in 5.9 that weren't in 5.8 ) and importing old config overwrites the new additions. So old config is no loss. Shame you can't just opt to export/import your firewall rules? Would save a lot of work for simple folk like me.

None the wiser about BSODs in 5.8 config but all's well that ends well. Toodle pip till next upgrade, hopefully. Happy Krimble and thanks for fixing whatever it is you fixed Thumb Up

What is the status on this, I just killed cmdagent and cfp with it.
How can security application allow itself to be killed like this?

Because it's a trusted application that is allowed to load a kernel driver by CIS.
Once a kernel driver is loaded it can do pretty much anything to your system. This can't happen with tools that are not allowed to load a kernel driver by CIS, they can't kill CIS.

It was a confict between EPM and Avast which I don't think has been corrected in 5.9. Have a look at this thread.

I noticed when getting a Geekbuddy alert it will not tell or show what the nature of the threat is but it will only tell there was a threat of some sort. See attached images.

I think CIS should let the Geekbuddy alert tell what is going on and not just speak in general terms.

I seem to be observing D+ cannot block KMPlayer from calling home via it's gui KMPlayer 3.1.0 Options>About> all the links there launch IE eventhough you have set-up a block for IE in,
KMPlayer uses COM call to start IE, please apply the following block rule to prevent starting of IE.

Does the TrustConnect integration work with a 10 GB free account? I tried with both my service username and password and I get a "failed to establish connection" error message.

Thanks Grin

I can block a execution here, Win7, x64, both unknown applications.
I'll check again with a 'trusted' application, D+ on Paranoid.
[at] Ronny,

Thanks for the reply and sorry for my late one...ti's the season Smiley I'm having a hard time dealing with the blocking with said products this is in W7 x32. KMPlayer 3.1 when you right-click>Options>About --all the links there open IE still.

Can you try it with Wondershare product? There is a freeware version HERE

I'd like to specifically block any connection using the gui of the applications. Like as mentioned the go to Product Center, Support page etc...Clicking that in the gui launches the browsers. For the..."kids click-here-click-there insane behavior"

Quote
Because it's a trusted application that is allowed to load a kernel driver by CIS.
Might this be a reason...? Wondershare is "trusted application" I see it in the list. Might be that it is trusted that CIS allows it to bypass the blocks set..yes?

I'll try it again and if not I'll uinstall/re-install (will use the clean-up tool). Be back here.

Anyone experience this..? This is not an issue with me with v5.8 with the said settings I posted.

Thanks!
