Hi! I'm experiencing quite weird thing with the later (and latest too) version of CIS - I'm able to kill CIS processes (cfp.exe and cmdagent.exe), despite having enhanced protection option enabled. Under Win 7 x64, of course. Disabling - sys restart - enabling - sys restart - this option changes nothing, even uninstall and clean install didn't help me. What could it be?
I have to admit - I have three license servers running (3D graphics programs/plugins - Nalpeiron, Flexnet and Cebas's IP-Clamp Licensing service), but they weren't the problem before at all.

What tool are you using to 'kill' those processes?

So you mean with no specific changes to the configuration?

The newest Process Hacker, v2.25. Just ordinary 'Terminate', not 'Terminator' option by right-click menu.
And "Diagnostics" option doesn't find anything wrong during normal use, though I have to use it, when I kill cmdagent.exe process, but it's obvious, why Wink
I'm including two screen shots, which should show, that the protection options of COMODO folders/files are intact.
Even if I add the "Comodo Internet Security" files group to the protected files list in Defense+ security policy window (they weren't added by default, strange) - it doesn't change a thing, unless I have to restart after adding anything new to protect by D+?
The third picture shows my actual policies for processhacker.exe (64bit), made by CIS's automatic D+ config routines.

What tool are you using to 'kill' those processes?

I don't know how these new warning and nagging messages for Defense+ and GeekBuddy should improve usability in any way.
Please make the Defense+ warning message at least optional like the GeekBuddy nagging messages. Since I'm using the Defense+ options pretty often it's really disturbing.

Since the changelog doesn't mention any security fixes, I'm staying with 5.8 so far.

As far as I know there were security fixes.
And from where did you get this information??

According to the first post in this thread, which also contains the changelog:
Quote
This is a minor maintanence release with a few new but exciting features

The changelog lists some new features, some improvements and some functionality fixes. Ok - maybe you can count the correct handling of the "Trusted Application" option as a security fix.

If there were critical fixes for any security features in CIS, I think, these should be mentioned in any case in this post!

Little update: I can't kill CIS processes with plain taskman.exe, so it's processhacker's handlling by CIS is faulty - CIS probably gives PH (automatically) a nice set of rules - killing tools.

Hi. I'm using CFW and Defense+ on Win 7Pro x64.  Two questions before I upgrade to version 5.9:

1) Is it okay to import existing config after updating?
2) Has 5.9 tweaked Defence+'s Enhanced Protection Mode by any chance?

After last upgrade to 5.8 I hand re-entered all my own settings...not a task I want to repeat if I don't have to.

Also, had to turn off Enhanced Protection Mode because of BSODs (submitted formatted bug report at the time). No BSODs since turning off EPM but feeling a bit drafty without its extra security on my x64 system.  Cry

Thanks! I realized the mistake I made Wink
Though, even in D+ Paranoid Mode i was able to kill cfp.exe, once I let PH access the keyboard (only that!).
