What I forgot to add re: keeping the last v3 and its latest installer that it would be helpful backing up the settings (Exported Policies)

You'll have to translate that, Slavic friend, I'm not as tech saviour as you.

Nothing special re: (regarding) tech stuff  and that was not written in Russian ( was it?) Grin

"Miscellaneous" > "Manage My Configurations"

You can export current settings & then if you need reinstall you can Import them, so you don't need to redo all settings when getting all Alerts all over again (despite sometimes that is helpful)

You can have different "named" sets  actually and apply those for a special (different)  configurations. Basically that's equal to "Export As... "Import As..." when you choose the respective name(s)

In the past there we just a few cases where it was stated that new policies cannot be imported because of the new format... but since current notes are about keeping the old version - all should be left intact

Cheers!

The problem is that D+ is responsible for leak protection.

Yes.  You'vd answered your own question.  If you keep D+ too you will be in good shape as far as new leaks won't be explored. (or, as far as is your knowledge to create new rules - b/c D+ structure is very adaptive).

Personally, I think we all will go to v4-full someday, against our today's thoughts. It will be easier than deploying D+ rules in deep. Haven't you read "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson? Comodo's trust value isn't mastered only upon their product, but most on the people working there managed by Melih. My deep wishes was to have CAV stable for months until SB or anything else integrated to it. But, sadly, it seems unreliable for now.

================================================

I can understand that to a point but if the version, release, and modification level is current what would generate a product update??

It is "by design" AFAIK. (at least it was a short time ago - haven't tested with 587) - referring to trusted sw vendors list modifications.

I have not deleted any "trusted software vendors". As a matter of fact I haven't deleted anything. There was a definite download and install........
Quite a mistery...
I did NOT noticed that behavior (about 20 pc's with CIS).  I have no ideas anymore, sorry.

the comodo AV scanner detected safe installers for easy cd-da extractor 12 and 12 build 1, classified as unknown malwares, what is not possible.
same problem with the superadblocker installer as it's a safe file.
how to correct those errors ?

Hi donnyd,

If you are sure that it was an update from "587 to 587" that would be helpful for developers to know more details like the OS/ platform you are running and whether you are using a whole Suite or just Firewall
My apology if I  missed that info in one of your posts regarding the matter

Jose,

Cheers!

I'm sure it was "587 to 587".
The OS I'm running is Windows XP Media Center SP3. I have CIS installed with firewall in safe mode, D+ in safe mode AV is installed but disabled and have the latest A-Squared running in background for my AV. windows security center shows comodo firewall in currently on and A-squared is my current AV.

Hope this helps............

The .587 version doesn't ask anything if you want to download an exe file with your browser
http://forums.comodo.com/defense-help/whats-the-policy-to-prevent-downloading-exe-files-t51193.0.html
while it was a default behaviour with all the previous versions

is it a bug?

This 4.0 is not more than a to early Alpha release not tested thourow. So much time and such a bad start of a maybe good product. This is certainly no Beta release.

Hi,

I downloaded latest version of CIS 3.14 and installed it on Win 7 64 bit O.S. I am unable to see ThreatCast. Please note I was online when I registered software. Have already tried installing multiple times. Have tried removing registration for ThreatCast and setting it again but to no avail.

In the release notes, it says this problem has been fixed but I am still facing it.

Please help me.

Thank you
