Will COMODO join av comparatives test in 2012?

We invite all interested Anti-Virus software vendors, to apply for inclusion in the tests of 2012. The number of participants is limited. Requests are accepted till 9th of January 2012.

Hahahaha!
Good one....
Matousec tests aren't free and COMODO did (does?) partecipate  Wink

Moreover, I'd say most of the COMODO popularity comes from the Matousec tests.

Just like the fact that many people use COMODO Firewall without COMODO AV, comes from the fact that COMODO didn't join the av comparatives test.

There is no validation to their process and they try to bully us. They offer no value, because
1)they charge 8000 Euro for these tests minimum.
2)testing methodoligies are not validated
3)AV-Comparatives are not certified like ICSA (btw, Comodo is tested by ICSA)

So they offer no real value to us, just to their own pocket Smiley

With Matousec we get great work into how our product could be vulnerable etc so that we can fix it asap. Matousec is worth every penny!

While point 1 is a good point (well, you should calculate if an increased popularity because of good results in the av comparatives test would justify an 8000€ disbursement or not), points 2 and 3 seem pretty weak to me. Who can validate who? Who can certify who? Why should ICSA be better than av comparatives? My engineering and scientific background suggest me that we should care about "scientific" methodologies. And av comparatives tests appear to me well documented, well explained and scientific (probably more than the ICSA ones). Just my 2 cents.

2&3 are the most important.
As an engineer, I am sure you understand the validation process and ISO. ICSA is ISO Certified, AV-Comparatives is NOT!

Noone knows if AV-Comparatives are actually carrying out the methodologies they claim they are. They need to be validated by an independent auditor.

Just like, as an engineer, whether its a building you build, or an electronic circuit, before it goes to public, it gets certified to make sure whatever the engineer claimed is done correctly.

As an engineer, I find it disturbing that you don't put any value to 2&3.

I agree with Melih's point.

And given the situation between Comodo & AV-Com I dont think they should submit CIS. They may show Comodo in a bad light i.e poor detection.
