I too would like to see an email client added into CD as well as an IM client. Rather than using Thunderbird and Pidgin as seperate programs, add these features into CD.

Have you tried extensions?
Some can feature an instant access, one click.
Email extansions? If there any exist? If yes, I will use CD.

I agree with that, but the thing about ideas is that they still need to blend and applied. Blending it in might not turn out so well, if the browser becomes bloated and starts to lose momentum.
I agree it's better to have good CD without feature one dreams of  then its worsened version with the desired feature.

CD with an email client stays a browser too. With a great bonus - more users will use it!  Smiley And me for sure!  Grin

I see nothing wrong in adding an email or IM client into CD (both are popular ways of communicating). As CD stands at the moment, it is just another browser (with security in mind). I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would like CD to be THE product that handles my internet activities.

Hopefully, Comodo would take the same approach as they took with CIS. If the developers can achieve what they did with CIS (firewall, antivirus, defense+), I'm sure the same could be applied to CD.

The whole idea behind Chromium browsers is simplicity (and safety).
I see no additional features that you ask in Chrome, Iron or ChromePlus.
Luckily, there are other products on the market that can satisfy your wishes.
My vote goes for unbloated Dragon.
Lots of people today use webmail too.  Wink

I don't understand. People migrated from Firefox to Chrome because Firefox started becoming bloated, so now you are saying that Chrome should stop trying to keep it slim? I guess they can please some users but not please others. Don't get me wrong, I am not comfortable bashing on Firefox, I am still a FF fanboy, nor do I want to say that Google has something right, but I have to, hurts.

what i'm trying to say is chrome shouldn't just make it slim for the sake of being slim. if it makes since to have something for the average user add it and they've done that but it seems like they're starting to get sucked into being slim for the sake of being slim. the compact view i think would be better as an addon rather than a built in feature which they're either working on or have already added in as an option. that feature to me is bloat because the average user will keep the default gui. if i had to add a feature to chrome that wouldn't be for the average user it would be native rss with notifications instead of compact navigation because i think it has more potential to help the user accomplish something rather than save some space. now if chrome detected that you were on a netbook and offered the user to use compact navigation then i could see that as helping the average user but i doubt they would add that even if someone mentioned it to them

Or offer it as a Netbook Chrome version download.

Compact version as an option, hopefully.
Sure, Chromium could use a native RSS.

I agree. Although CD is based on Chromium, it can also be what ever it wants to be and still be secure.

That doesn't mean that CD should follow suit. I would like CD to stand out from the crowd and be different.

I'm sure there are but they are not Comodo. I'm happy using additional products to handle email, IM, etc but would prefer one product to handle them all (developed by Comodo).

I agree 100% but I'm sure this can be achieved without the bloat. As mentioned in one of my other posts, have extensions to allow these features.

added "safe browser" mode that protects from keylogger, pretty much like avast safe zone browser or safecentral's firefox.

Yes, and email client will be a good bonus.

Luckily, there are other products on the market that can satisfy your wishes.
And yours wishes too, so when CD will be with email you are welcome to choose other browser without email client.  Smiley

Mine too. So we have agreement in all points. Cheesy

Rather than hiding all Comodo's new features within various groups (Basics, Personal Stuff, Under the Hood) listed under Chromium's default "Options", add all Comodo features under one group (I.e Dragon). Better still, add a seperate menu item (see screenshot) accessible from Dragon icon (this could still point to a seperate group within "Options").

This would then make CD's features more visible/accessible to users (esp. new users).

I am down with that.

Might be controversial, since it saves time to just go to one option, and still have to go through 3 sections in Options in the first place. But we can see what Comodo is up to, new experiments.

Clicking on "Dragon Options" menu item could still take you to the "Options" pages, just an additional group named "Dragon" along side (well, above or below) Basics, Personal Stuff and Under the Hood.

In fact, I would imagine it would be easier for GUI designers to implement this as they could leave the original layout of Chromium as is and have fun with the layout of the Dragon section (or page).
