The most sensible thing I've read about 'browser tests' in a long time.

What's the fastest browser ? Maybe you're measuring wrong
Radaghast that write up does make a lot of sense.
Thanks for the link, I found it to be a very interesting read. Thumb Up

Thx for the article.

Off-Topic! More generally speaking. Starting from the assumption that all technical artifacts have more than one, and more than often numerous, parameters that influence how it operates it is very odd to see one parameter being highlighted and presented as the one and only relevant parameter. That smells like tunnel vision (not like teen spirit).

Next silly step then is to proclaim in polarising fashion that because of having the best performance for the one parameter the favorite artifact is therefor the best....  Roll Eyes Lips Sealed

The canary build of Chrome is only 5 points behind Maxthon.  These abilities will trickle down to CD.

Canary on Hulu went to 4 frames a second or so. And squeaking audio. That's a beta for you.

Based on it's rate of change I'd say Maxthon will be at 500 in 4 months. Some of the features like unknown protocol handling seem like there going to be pretty hard. But at least it will be able to make first contact with aliens should the need arise.

Comodo Dragons disabling of flash is at least half right in the browsers today. In all Chrome builds if you disable individual plugins. You will usually see 2 flash player versions.  Disable the pepper flash plugin and your flash will not get the sparkling or peppery breaking that can happen.  Maxthon doesn't have the disabling  ability. And as I believe my Onlive service force installs the plugin. Flash jammed on Maxthon.   I am back to pepper free Chrome builds.

My graphic showed that above.  Maxthon needs to add the ability to disable plugins or it is going to break on bad plugins.     www.youtube.com/html5  let's you try  html5 if you click the opt in button on the bottom. Maxthon, after a while, stuttered and jammed in html5. Probably due to this security vulnerability.  Chrome is way better until this is addressed.        edit   I didn't see the win 8 variation. Sorry about that.

Indeed. The HTML 5 specs are not finalised yet. It is still being developed as we speak and as such that makes an HTML 5 test not really useful.

Maxthon went up 2 in the score and up 2 in the bonus. This is the beta from their message forum. About every week a new and better scoring version comes out.   I have to say this browser reminds me of Safari when it had security problems. Not consistent and untrustworthy. Might be pawned to own pretty quickly.
