Follow these guidelines and CCleaner will support Comodo Dragon
« on: February 17, 2011, 12:16:45 PM »
Since CCleaner doesn't support Comodo Dragon there is a way to fix that.
Follow these guidelines and CCleaner will support Comodo Dragon:

HOW TO USE:

Open Notepad, paste the code of your browser into it, and save it as winapp2.ini (as type "All Files").
Now place the file on the CCleaner folder (usually C:\ -> Program Files -> CCleaner).
Make sure CCleaner is closed when you do this.

Copy those codes to Notepad:

[Comodo Dragon - Cache]
Section=Comodo Dragon
LangRef=Cache
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default\Cache|*.*

[Comodo Dragon - Cookies]
Section=Comodo Dragon
LangRef=Cookies
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Cookies

[Comodo Dragon - History]
Section=Comodo Dragon
LangRef=History
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|*History*
FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Thumbnails
FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Visited Links
FileKey4=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|*Tabs

[Comodo Dragon - Form Data]

LangRef=Form Data
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe

[Comodo Dragon - Session]
Section=Comodo Dragon
LangRef=Session
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|*Session

Enjoy!  ;)

That gotta be handy,  I'm going to sticky this
It's hard being a crooked Admin when the files won't pass an md5checksum test.  But like any other good crooked Admin it can be done, it just takes time(and lots of it) and a few aspirins

When I use CCleaner in my windows 7 PC it already recognizes CD. It just lists it as Chromium. In small letters underneath the word "chromium" it says: dragon. Before you jump through the Chrome hoops try running the cleaner and  see if it has an log entry for Chrome or Chromium with dragon listed in the sub-text.

Not to see in CCleaner menu if CD is installed as portable.

MysteryLady:

Most definitely does show IF you change the path shown in "DetectFile" and "KeyFile#" lines.

My portable set up is in a separate folder "PortableApps" not inside "Program Files" or any other folder.  I use the following in winapp2.ini for CCleaner:

[Comodo DragonPortable - Cache]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=Cache
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default\Cache|*.*

[Comodo Dragon - Cookies]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=Cookies
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Cookies

[Comodo Dragon - History]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=History
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|*History*
FileKey2=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Thumbnails
FileKey3=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Visited Links
FileKey4=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|*Tabs

[Comodo Dragon - Form Data]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=Form Data
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Web Data

Note: Just learned that the above "Form Data" section will reset your search engines to default and delete any search engines that you have installed into Dragon.  So, you can leave it unchecked in CCleaner or omit it entirely from winapp2.ini.

[Comodo Dragon - Session Restore]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=Session Restore
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Current Session
FileKey2=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Last Session
FileKey3=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default|Session Storage

[Comodo Dragon - Media Cache]
Section=*Comodo DragonPortable
LangRef=Media Cache
DetectFile=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=C:\PortableApps\Comodo DragonPortable\Comodo\Dragon\User Data\Default\Media Cache|*.*

MysteryLady:

One additional note.

The * before Comodo DragonPortable in the "Section" line is my simplistic method of identifying which applications I have set up in winapp2.ini file.
