Are you sure it is not your Internet (cache, failed download etc.)? Please, check file integrity or download the file with a downloader.
Tested on Win7 64bit as well (with admin rights), got no problems.

Ark, I posted the same error earlier.  I am using Vista x64 currently.
Admin account, DL was fine (even manually DL'd and ran the installer - same error message).

are you suggesting that i should clear the cache for your first suggestion. Also what are steps to take for checking file integrity. What downloader would you suggest. I tried downloading with both dragon and firefox from comodo's site and the link provided here in the forum and i tried updating through dragons check for updates

EDIT: all is good now. i got a trial of geekbuddy and they helped me. i have one account on my computer and it's an admin of course. i had to create another admin account and install it on the new account which also by default installs on my original admin account. now it runs fine and everything is good. also i'm able to delete that admin account i created that allowed the install for 12.2 and still have dragon work on my original admin account. hope this info helps anyone who's had problems with this update.

i'd still like to know how to check a files integrity though even though my problem is fixed.

also just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why i had to create another admin account to install dragon and why it wouldn't install on my original admin account

regarding the site inspector button:

before you guys added that, i put a bookmark to site inspector which provides the same functionality as the button you guys added except the button automatically opens a new tab unless you already are on the new tab page where as if i want to open site inspector in a new tab using the bookmark, i have to right click first. however if you have a new tab up but you are on another tab with an actual site up and you click the site inspector button it will open a new tab instead of using the new tab that's already open. why not just use the new tab that's already open instead of creating another new tab page  which means you now have 1 new tab page that's up and the other new tab went straight to site inspector. the fact that the button opens new tabs automatically unlike bookmarks is barely enough reason to even have the button showing but i guess it does make the process of scanning a site a little faster but not much

it would be nice if you guys added:

site inspector icon next to links giving an indication of safe, malicious, suspicious, inconclusive.
(green for safe. red for malicious. yellow for suspicious. grey for inconclusive.)
clcik on the icon to view full report. if that's not possible then add the ability to click the site inspector icons next to links to open new tab and start the scan

right click scan link with site inspector. this would be great for if you can't get icons to show next to all links like how WOT currently can't do for all sites

right click on button to select option to hide it.

you could do similar things with cima and valk for files if you guys integrate that into dragon. it would make it easier to scan files before downloading

To Trscsaeg.  In any situation that is going to open a new tab it will regard all open tabs as already used (not new) whether they are blank or not.

Hi trscsaeg, e.g. by file size. You can check the file size here. Right-click the downloaded file and check Properties.
As for user rights: there must be some kind of rights violation (not full admin rights or some writing/reading right were disabled for the current account etc.), i got no other clues.

Here too, but during install I selected dns for dragon only. After install dns setting under options were not selected. This is a little bug atleast here. Though minor but this shouldn't happen coz most average users may not notice. They will not get the dns protection even when they selected it during install. By the way this was not an upgrade but a fresh install. On win 7 64 I upgraded & everything was fine.

Thanxx

Strange. For me, it was an upgrade : all my settings, extensions and bookmarks remained the same than under previous version. One difference with your update process, as I use secure DNS on a general level, I didn't install it with Dragon's upgrade. Could it be the explanation?

On XP SP3 32 Bits, fresh install it was not selected in the option but I selected it during install.

On Win 7 64 Bits, upgrade & everything was fine.

I dont use it on a general level.
