- Your Operating System (and whether it's 32bit/64bit); Windows 7 Sp1 x64

- Other Backup & Security Software Installed; Acronis True Image Home 2012 and Norton 360

- How you produced the problem; Installed Latest version attempted to create a custom backup

- How you tried to resolve the problem; Reboot, Reinstall, Restart, nothing worked.

- Screen-shots with the error (if any); See Attached

- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any; None

- file system (FAT32/NTFS/...) NTFS

- All log files (%TEMP%\ComodoLogsFolder and \Windows\Temp\ComodoLogsFolder). You can compress these folders into a single zip file: See Attached

- does Diagnose says the application is installed correctly? No Diagnose Option

- User Account Control On/Off ? On

- Any other Additional Information; Program locks up hard when trying to create a custom profile. Windows reports program has stopped and have to close it to stop it. This happens EVERY time with the latest version. I also have Norton 360 V.5 installed at this time as this is NOT my COMODO machine that does not have CIS installed.

Hi,

When crash occurs please create a dump file (Task Manager -> Processes -> cbu.exe -> right click -> choose "Create dump file").
Compress the dump file, then upload it to Online Storage, share it (from website) and post the download link so we can analyze it.

Thanks

- Your Operating System (and whether it's 32bit/64bit); Windows 7 Sp1 32bit

- Other Backup & Security Software Installed; CIS 5.8 and CTM 2.9

- How you produced the problem; Attempted to install latest version (4.0.7) and on rebooting system goes into a reboot loop. Interactive load reports last attempted driver load was cbvd.sys.

- How you tried to resolve the problem; Reboot, Reinstall, Restart, nothing worked.

- Screen-shots with the error (if any);

- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any; None

- file system (FAT32/NTFS/...) NTFS

- does Diagnose says the application is installed correctly? No Diagnose Option

- User Account Control On/Off ? On

- Any other Additional Information; Win7 recovery console reports errors in {bootmgr}. Same error occured with previous versions of CB4.X. CTM rollback successful back to pre CB4.0.7 install.

Ewen :-(

P.S. Exactly the same error on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Same protection software installed.

backup failed with error code 3 (not enough memory)

Windows XP sp2 3.5 Gb
Backup type: Incremental / Automatic base / files & directories / CBU file.
Backup to network drive, backup location entered in the format \\10.10.10.3\someDir

At 94%, after 8+ hours, the error occurred.

The folder to backup contains 21.000 files in 484 folders.

Nothing else running at that time on this pc, so the backup had +- 3gb Ram available!
I did run a disk backup (of another disk) succesfully before to (another) network drive.

I uninstalled Norton Ghost 9.0 before (which served me well for years), alas...

Hope you can help / solve the issue.
Tom

See attachment.  I had to copy the file Comodo Online Storage Communication.log because it was "in use by another process".

Btw, I installed to P:\Program Files, but part of the installation ended up in C:\Program Files anyway !

See attachment.  I had to copy the file Comodo Online Storage Communication.log because it was "in use by another process".

This seems to be the Windows temp,  but we need the user temp.

Go to Windows menu -> run -> type "%TEMP%\ComodoLogsFolder" hit enter.
Then post the CBU.exe.log and CBU.exe.logold.log (you can check them to see if they contain information from the time when error occurred, if not the error needs to be reproduced).

Thanks

Yes, some common components for Online Storage and Backup product need to be installed on the default "Program Files" folder.

Fantastic Emanuel.  Thumb Up to you and your team. I look forward to the next update.

To fix the issue you need to change the order of the "UpperFilters" key value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry key.

When installing CTM, then CB the order is:
bdisk
CTMSHD
PartMgr

But it should be changed to this, before restarting computer:
CTMSHD
bdisk
PartMgr

Thanks

Whoops, sorry about that.
Correct file attached this time.

It seems that it really ran out of memory.
How big is the total size of the files and folders you are trying to backup?
If possible, please reproduce the error again and take a look at CBU.exe memory consumption in task manager before the backup fails.

Thanks
