[...]
Install CBU and do a whole system back up to another hard disk on the network. Then when browsing the internet if I play audio or video at any point the computer slows to a crawl.
[...]

Hi
We will add in version 2.1 network usage priority when backing up.

I upgraded to version 2 yesterday with no luck on a smooth operation.  So far I have found two bugs.

BUG ONE (1):
The first was referred to already, being the magic disappearing application.  the only remaining visible components are the configuration area and several buttons.  However, full visibility appears to return once an item (any button) is selected.  Additionally, there does not appear to be any loss of functionality.

- Your Operating System (and whether it's 32bit/64bit);
____Win XP, service Pack 3, 32 bit
- Other Backup & Security Software Installed;
____Trend Micro for security
____Comodo Backup 1.4 (removed)
- How you produced the problem;
____Loading the application
- How you tried to resolve the problem;
____Pressing application buttons as soon as application loads
- Screen-shots with the error (if any);
____see attached
- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any;
- All log files;
- Any other Additional Information;

BUG TWO (2):
Scheduler Error
The second error occured while attempting to configure the backup to run on a daily schedule at 2am.  Upon finalizing (or running the backup) an error message pops up.  If I pressed finalized the error came up with Comodo discarding all of the configuration data for the backup.  If I press backup now Comodo appears to attempt a backup but with additional errors.

- Your Operating System (and whether it's 32bit/64bit);
____Win XP, service Pack 3, 32 bit
- Other Backup & Security Software Installed;
____Trend Micro for security
____Comodo Backup 1.4 (removed)
- How you produced the problem;
____Executing a Backup
- How you tried to resolve the problem;
____Alternate schedules, different time, utilize the finalize and/or backup now button
- Screen-shots with the error (if any);
____see attached
- Post Memory Dumps on crash if you encounter any;
- All log files;
- Any other Additional Information;

As a quick follow up, I have been able to initiate a backup using the simple copy method with this configuration:
--Files and Directories
----selected files
--Simple Copy
--H:\drive
--No additional options selected
--Scheduled
---every night at 2:30am
--Finalize (as opposed to selecting backup)

Upon completion I manually started the backup

Additionally, the application appears to be coming up normally now, with no magically transparent or whitewashed effect.

Hi there,

sorry, my English sucks, but I'll try my best...

XP, SP3, CBU 108800.9

The problem:
I can't choose any HD at step 1, CBU shows me no Backup source. no partitions, no HDs. There are 2 normal HD's and 2 USB devices in my system, but no one shows up in the window.
If I go to Files/Registry or another point the Hd's are there, but if I come to step 3, there is just drive "c" as a target. All other drives are missing.

After deletion (registry included) and a new install all HDs showed up correctly for one time. I could make just one MBR/partition/HD backup to another drive. But the second time, there is no more drive to choose. Just like at the beginning.

The problem has nothing to do with screen resolution.

Thanx + Greetings

What connection method do the hard drives use - IDS, SATA, SCSI, RAID?

Are they basic or dynamic disks?

Mixed up,

two are basic drives with one primary partition, Sata
one drive has an extended partition, Sata
one dirve is dynamic with two paritions (one truecrypt), Sata
the two USBs are dynamic.

No, for the backups to run you must be logged on.

Sounds like many people won't use Comodo Backup 2.0 for this reason, including me. I must confess that my biggest mistake is removing CB1.4 before installing CB2.0   Cry

By the way, it still got the same old problems in 1.x: for some reason, it cannot realize that the backup job completed correctly, so it kept trying to Finalizing (I backed up to a FTP server). 2ndly, sometimes I cannot interact with the GUI. The visual of the buttons still change when I point to them, but when click them, nothing's happend. Actually, backup jobs finish successfully much faster and fluenter than previous version. With 1.4, I can hardly finish a backup job (compress a ~600MB-and-more file, then send it to a FTP server)

I still can't understand why you guys cut the Service backup function off. So sad.

Thanks for a good application.

____Reload the application
