bug of uninstalling itunes
« on: January 28, 2012, 11:41:45 AM »
i've been seeing a bug that when i uninstall itunes, it gives me a gigantic list of related programs that needed to be uninstalled, i think the list is not quite true.
it wants me to uninstall microsoft applications such as silverlight and security updates. i have no idea why that needs to be uninstaled, i had to use programs and features/uninstall a program to remove itunes and related applications.

i am currently running windows 7 home premium 64bit

I encounter the same problem from time to time.

My guess is that you installed iTunes whilst Windows Update was installing patches and CPM assumed they were all part of one install.

What sucks is when you install something that install/validates a needed component (such as VC runtimes), it will uninstall those as well and won't give you an option.
