I guess if there was a topic were something like that it was posted you already replied to it. Lips Sealed

Nah, if i posted everytime this happened, i would be here all day. Tongue

Anyway AFAIK Egemen (CFP Lead programmer) never stated something like that.

Well not sure about that, but if you read what i wrote i'm talking about "respected" moderators and global moderators, not specifically the lead programmer (who i hope has more sense than that)  who should REALLY know better....

Well what about posting keylogging PoC in this topic then?
This will be more interesting and profitable for all kind of readers.
From your posts it looks like you addressed keylogges issues before.
This makes me think you got something like a keylogger testsuite in order to test thoroughly your product of choice.
If I'm not mistaken about that please post them there.

I see,  then you obviously missed our forum policy.

  • Impersonation. Forum participants should not impersonate or represent Comodo, its employees or other industry professionals. We have several (well-loved) moderators helping us maintain the forum - and, as well-informed as they may be about Comodo's products and related information, they are not employees of Comodo. If you have questions about a specific user's affiliation with Comodo, please address them to one of the Administrators of the site.

In that regards Moderators are like plain members and they are entitled to they own viewpoints.

Sure they are. exactly the way some of them act, if you contradict them, they act like they are the only ones worth knowing something...

Well I never thought I would Wink, but here I must defend Comodo.
The toolbar is optional and does not need to be installed.
Automatic Updates does not install it (very wise decision).

The memory firewall seems to be too buggy to be added to CPF,
something which will be done in the future, according to Melih.
Let's just hope it will be completely optional then as well, or there will be
an easy way to completely disable it (just as you can also disable Defense+ now).

I personally do not want to use the toolbar (don't need it, dont want it etc.), so I
simply don't install it.
I also have no need for Defense+ (in my personal computing environment), so I disable that as well (I install "Firewall Only without leak protection").

Bottom line:

As long as "extra" stuff (Toolbar, Defense+, Memory Firewall, ... you name it)
is optional and remains optional in the future, all is well.

But I agree with you in one point: If Comodo chose to force stuff on users
(i.e. not giving them a choice) in the future, this would indeed "destroy"
Comodo Firewall's excellent reputation and would make scores of people
(includung me) VERY unhappy.

But according to Melih's recent posts (e.g. in the v3.0.23 release thread),
they are NOT planning to go down that road (i.e. they will continue to give
users a choice in the future) Smiley

Let's hope this will indeed be the case (keeping my fingers crossed).

Best regards,
raynor

Well this is no longer true, they quickly reversed this.

I don't know how you qualify "only ones worth knowing something". In that regard as long the ones who got a different viewpoint care to explain it without breaking the policy and enabling all readers to take part in a topic and form their own opinion, there should be no issue.

Oh sure. Only, I don't have the rights to do so.

This is not the first time you post something this vague. if you have specific questions about the forum policy feel free to PM a Moderator instead of posting something that could be misunderstood by a casual reader or it will appear you are doing this on purpose.

Only Live Malwares are forbidden in this forum. PoCs are fine.
AFAIK there is nothing that prevents you from posting a PoC testsuite to let everyone evaluate their product of choice. So if you have these PoCs feel free to post them in the appropriate topics or feel free to create a new topic in the appropriate board.

Hi there. This is off topic really but to temporarily turn off the firewall right click on the system tray icon, select 'firewall security level' then click on 'disabled'.

Donna [ at ] CalendarUpates says she can no longer list your updates and I would guess support our Comodo Firewall Pro because Melih has included the ASK tool bar with new installs. Oh well here and their loss. Can't say I agree with their ideas here.

its such a shame that people turn their back on such an amazing software when we give them an "option" to support the cause!

Please note the emphasis on "option" as you don't have to install the toolbar! I would have thought people would have loved to help Comodo as every single penny generated from this initiative goes straight back into building even more products! All this new revenue will fund new projects to give you the best security and cover all the angles! I am saddened that people, when given the opportunity (an optional opportunity and not forced upon them) to help a good cause they turn their back! However, I am sure this is not the majority and there are literally millions if not tens of millions great users and supporters of our products who even wanted to donate money for the cause! So I am saddened for the minority, however I am eternally grateful to the majority!

thank you

I hear that! Figure she would have had more sense knowing she sell ads on her site to support her habit. Keep up the great firewall, it's the tops. Some of the other stuff sure needs so work though. We'll get there

I'm not sure if that is the issue.  I think many don't like the idea of Comodo dealing with ask.com

I ran across this today.

its the same issue as the above post...

toolbar is nothing malicious.. its just a simple basic toolbar so that you can search and comodo can make money from searches... thats it..
why is the negative against a toolbar that does no more than that?
