I don't speak for Kevin but I believe this is a great move and will benefit us all.
Comodo should be congratulated on both their acquisition of the program and the programmer.
The company, products and customers will certainly benefit from this coup as will the former BOClean customers.
Well done Melih!

Very interesting news. Will the name change to ComodoClean? Maybe it should since BOClean doesn't really accurately describe the software.

at the moment we will keep it as Comodo BOClean. We have a sizeable team available to Kevin now. Once he is upto speed with the team, then Kevin will be able to start having fun and build some nifty capabilities to his baby BOClean.  But yes, at some stage, I do expect a different name, but not anytime soon. Today the focus is "Kevin Enablement" so that we can deliver even a better product.

That's what I thought because re-branding in the software code might take a while if the product is already downloadable by next week.

Indeed.

Our game plan is "To protect our Users". We believe BOClean will help do that. So the sooner we get it out to them the better.

we want to increase the frequency of the updates also btw.

Lets give Kevin a time, he will protect us all from Malware Smiley

I've got to hand it to you Melih. You are one stick-to-your-word person.

I have to admit that I figured something this good would get bought out and squashed by the big boys by now. I have watched over the years this happening to so many other good products, BUT, you really plan on making it totally safe to get on the internet again without having to worry about some scumbag POS stealing our "stuff". Maybe you should buy Microsoft and clean their unsecure OS up while you are at it.  Tongue

Needless to say this latest news impresses me. I take my hat off to you and the Comodo family and wish to thank you, and them, for all of their hard work and the excellent free products you offer.

I would also like to welcome Kevin and Nancy to the Comodo family.

Keep up the good work,

Melih,

I know it's a bit early, but maybe you can answer a question that some people have raised in the DSLReports forum.

Here's the thread:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,18075683~days=9999

People are wondering about "what happens to the immunity from intimidation by bad guys that the makers of BOClean have as a consequence of the NY court ruling."

Apparently, there was a legal issue that Kevin & Nancy won due to the fact that BOClean wasn't free. Is that going to change now that it will become free? (See the thread for more info.)
