I think i remember Kevin saying they couldnt say about the comodo acquisition due to a US Law

Unfortunately the business law in the US does not allow that.

In fact, we've been at this for months along with struggling to stay afloat. I have talked to almost every company in the business. Only two others pursued this beyond blowing me off. One decided it would "be too expensive to integrate it" into their product, the other claimed they are "already doing this" though we know they aren't. Since there's nondisclosures with both as well signed during negotiations I will not name names.

(L)  Angel  Hug
hi Melih,

As I am a paying customers of BOClean I shoud have received Angry a letter of explanations from NSClean, But I woudn't wait for it for the reason I haven't gotten any emails from there reporting about the Comodo purchase. What's the heck NSClean think we are! But I really don't care about it.  But at least We're lucky that Boclean has good hands now and you will keep offering a quality service surely. Thus, I would like to know if my last boclean copy is still updated or useless outdated against the new hackers threat of nowadays because of the Boclean old signature resources? Should I keep using my old one and will be automatically updated for the new version when you will release the new boclean? Must I uninstall the old one to shift to the new version in order to set up the upcoming version? Thank you for all your clarifications and your prompt support. Best Regards. From a really confident customer at all.

Of course your copy is updated as frequently as before and will continue to be.

Thanks

Melih,

As for file submissions,  should I still send these to the former nsclean.com addy as well,  or are all samples from now on to be sent to malwaresubmit AT comodo.com exclusively?

We have created a new email address for boclean submissions at bocleansubmissions [ at ] comodo.com

Not sure my email is arriving...  are you per chance forwarding it to a NSClean addy?

I submitted a few samples to the comodo.com addy, and received the following in return:

Why do you have to say that, i really don't know. I suppose you won't be trying it out.

I presume it won't be much different from the existing version yes.

If you find those links, send them over PM, but i really don't see why you say that, or the relevance. They are going to get payed, so even if that were true, they would be refering to professional work, as opposed to amateur work.

And their line has always being, free will never make enough $$$ to pay people to produce professional work (all the while moaning that they don't earn that much $$$ in the first place)...  It's pretty easy to find, just search any forum like wilders or bbr for posts by them and you will see such comments...

Yes, i've read what you say these days. But i still think my main point is valid: they were refering to professional work, as opposed to amateur.

Not every company out there does what Comodo is doing. Comodo provides services and some commercial products, then offers everything else to benefit sales (trust online on the consumer side), and because it is related to the services they provide (trust online on the web side).
Given this, CPF, BOClean, CAVS et al should be regarded as professional work- they are payed, they work specifically for that, and it is connected to Comodo's business model.

AVG and Ewido staff are paid as well... Didn't stop the "free = amateur"  comments from them...

Carioca, (did you name yourself after the parrot in The Three Caboleros?)

I may be talking completely outta my [sleeve  Wink] here, but - at least in some situations - acquisitions like this are limited by very strict non-disclosure agreements.

Assuming that Comodo and NSCLean were parties to such an agreement, that would explain the paucity of information.

However - as you so clearly mentioned - BOClean is now in careful, loving, hands!

 Cheers
