I believe bequick's talking about AV updates & the ability to schedule them.

bequick, you do know there is a workaround for scheduling AV updates?

It's not paid. It's free and always will be. Smiley

Это - только изменение названия, чтобы отразить его статус. Премия все еще будет свободна.

I sure hope that makes any sense. Google. :)

Still free. It continues to be free. CIS is renamed to CIS Premium. But, it is still free.

How's that? Smiley

Thanks. Good luck.           New GUI terrible. Red color looks like danger. Maybe return GUI from CIS 3.14 (very beautiful GUI).

No, no, I was asking about AV and program update of 4.1.Smiley

Ah. I haven't heard anything about it for this release, but who knows. As kail mentioned, there is a work around if you do not know.

Setting the AV to update at user defined intervals can be indirectly achieved, but it would be better if it was built into CIS.

1. Open CIS and click ANTIVIRUS -> SCANNER SETTINGS

2. On the REAL TIME SCANNING tab, disable AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE VIRUS DATABASE BEFORE SCANNING.

3. On the MANUAL SCANNING tab, disable AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE VIRUS DATABASE BEFORE SCANNING.

4. On the SCHEDULED SCANNING tab, enable AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE VIRUS DATABASE BEFORE SCANNING and disable SHOW SCANNING PROGRESS

5. On the SCHEDULED SCANNING tab, disable SHOW SCANNING PROGRESS

6. Set up a series of scheduled scans that only scans a single innocuous file (e.g. a shortcut on your desktop) with a regularity that suits you and your environment.

I currently use this method with a series of scheduled scans set to scan a single desktop shortcut at 4AM, 8AM, 12AM, 4PM, 8PM and 12PM.

Yes, this is a workaround, but, equally, yes it works.

Hope this helps,
Ewen :-)

That doesn't specify whether v4.1 will have the option, or that the option will be available in the version after v4.1. From what Melih has said, it sounds like it won't be this version. I don't know for sure though, it could be.

Auto update could happen with 4.1, or a later version. I modified the post to be more clearer.

Thx.
