Hi minorgeek ,
1st, you revived an old discussion
Then, I may say, that your message sounds "a bit" (softly speaking) ... out of touch and has no relevance to the issue
I hope somebody will correct me/confirm or dismiss that
The last post here was:
So will Avast be coming to DACS, this should not be hard to do like previously said..

Well, at least that is related to the matter being discussed here
Personally, I don't see any use of DACS - it cannot bring any certainty by any means and it will not improve the detection by Comodo's AV (different story)
You have to read many threads/discussions here about it and make your own decision
... but...
... interesting idea. sounds like napster. may run into the same problems:
what kinda of idea you've picked here may even remotely reminiscent of the Napster

and what is running "into the same problems" re: DACS?
...i buy 10 songs and share them with my 10 friends who do the same. i get 100 songs for the price of 10. for each single copy purchased, there are 10 people using it...
I have ~700GB of songs & music videos & I do share them with my friends. No issues whatsoever. What is a problem? Can you clarify that, please?
translate songs to av scanners and it's the same...
What do you mean by
"translating songs to AV scanners"?
... n'est-ce pas?
"it is not" or "is it not",... meaning ?
... i.e., some av companies might protest that they're only getting 10% of the revenue the should be getting.
Since when
they ("av companies") have any revenue out of

scanning media files in order to detect whether those are infected ?
some help: most major av companies have a free scanner. so use those. i do. works well.

Sure, there are many free AVs around and we use them as on-demand scanners in addition to the main AV, but again - what is a relevance, please enlighten us
My regards
