I need set comodo  to make my computer pingable, but remain secure as possible

Hello everyone .When I try to upload anything that is not pretty much a small file to my website I am constantly getting disconnected from server and time outs---it blows. I have no router, Iam connected thriugha modem to the computer and my connection is extremely fast. I can upload to other servers just fine.

I want to run this for 1 day-smokeping

http://www.dslreports.com/tools

In case it is not visible to non menmber it does this.

NEW: Intensively monitor an IP address for 24+ hours to detect packet loss and/or excessive latency variability -- from three different locations

I think my host want to try it or something like it, but he has not gotten back yet and that blows too.

Thanks

If you want to make your computer pingable, this would normally be accomplished by a Network Monitor rule to:

Action:  Allow
Protocol:  ICMP
Direction:  In
Source IP:  Any
Destination IP:  Any (or your external ip, if it's static)
Source Port:  Any
Destination Port:  Any
ICMP Details:  Echo Request

By default there's already a rule to Allow Out ICMP Echo Reply, so just right-click that rule, select Add/Add Before and build your Allow In ECMP Echo Request; this will place the new rule above it, and all should be well.

When you're done, just remove that rule.

No problem; let us know how that works out for you.
