Hello

I just downloaded and tried to install CIS on a fresh Windows 7 Ultimate host, but the installer fails with "This installation does not support target platform".

Does it mean that the free CIS doesns't work with W7 Ultimate?

Thank you.

That's odd. It should work on Win 7.

Do you have any OS limitations on your host? Are you using a stripped version of Win 7 (stripped as in having used vLite or rather the Win 7 version of that)?

Sorry I can't help with your problem, but I can say Free CIS works fine with Win7 Ultimate. Good luck with a solution.

Edit- Have you chosen the correct installer 32bit or 64bit?

Hey and warm welcome to comodo forums!

Use this; I am quite sure you have taken wrong installer. You have to know if you have 32/64bit OS.

Tell if this helps.

Sorry about that: Indeed, I simply clicked on the Download button, without noticing that the Comodo installer comes in 32- and 64-bit versions, the former being the default. The 64-bit version installed OK.

If browsers use HTTP headers to return which OS/version the user has, the Comodo website could pre-select the right installer.

Thank you.

No need to be sorry, we are glad to help. Enjoy
