I came across your product by accident. I have been looking for an other fire wall program ever since Zone Alarm started acting up and wouldn't let me send or receive e-mail. The minute I installed Firewall Pro all my e-mail problems disappeared. I also like the way it works. Not being that computer savvy it does what it says it can do. That's all I want

Glad you're liking the firewall, arjjay, and that it's working well for you!  Feel free to poke around the forums and ask questions as you need.

Well...about all I can do after typing out my last post in the Beta Corner, and then seeing this thread, is to Link you to that Post!!!

I think I said it all pretty much over there, at least my (so far) limited use of it. I've been going thru every single clickable area of the product, that's what I do with new things. I like to systematically go thru every little part of a product to see what's in there, and that's what I've been doing with CFP 3 Alpha for the last 8 hours or so now.
I think all I can say here, that I didn't say there is....Wow!! What a feature rich product compared to the other firewalls I've been testing over the last 5 months...

Please read my Thoughts on this in the post I linked above.

I've been using CFP for the last 5 or 6  months and have been very pleased. Before CFP I used Zonealarm Pro. ZAP was becoming a little too much of a resource hog and was getting more intrusive, not to mention expensive so when it was time to renew my licence I did a little digging around and found Comodo's excellent FWP product. Except for a small problem syncing Windows time servers (since resolved with 2 simple rules) I have had absolutely no problems at all. It plays well with my security programs (NOD32, Boclean and ProSecurity) and is very light on resources. Incidentally, if your looking for a good fax solution, give Comodo's TrustFax a try. It's a great faxing solution. Best regards Jim

Comodo Firewall is an excellent, elegant and simple application that does everything it is supposed to, and it is free. I have been using software firewalls for over ten years and have tried most if not all. Comodo is the by far the best.  My only compliant is that it can be a bit noisy with pop ups, however the small footprint and minimal resources it takes makes up for this.

Thanks all at Comodo for letting have such a good application for free.

I used to use Norton security products, and I always thought that their firewall was good.

However I recently tested myself with firewallleaktest.com and was surprised at how BAD Norton was.

I had previously been using Comodo Firewall Pro on another PC but now it's on both!

Comodo Firewall Pro is an excellent product, and all for FREE!!. I have also recently started using BOClean and find it to be another great program.

I can see that Comodo AntiVirus Spyware is going to turn out to be great too. I'm sure you'll be able to get it ranked in the (if not THE) top AV list Grin

Comodo Firewall really gives you control over what goes in and out of your computer.  After having been hacked back in April, CPF was recommended in another forum.  Now I am in control, and I decide what could be potential problems.

The forum is one of the two best forums of ANY kind I've ever used.  The response is quick!  And the volunteers can talk to you in "common" language, or be as technical as you want.  Best part?  They stick with you until the problem is solved.

I will always recommend CPF to my friends!  Is COMODO married?

First of all sorry for my bad english...

Formyself i hafe serching a Firewall who is very sevure all others things a the first was secondary.
After testing more then 12 PFW i was hanging fix on the Comodo.
Because:

All Leakteasts i have tryed was passed by the Commodo
The Technik with Protokoll Checking and Programm Analysis is simpel and efficent
No Tricky Virus or Worm or Trojan can bypass the PFW or shut her down
I have no Performance Loost

The Handling is for a noob not soo comfortable but it is OK

BUT:
the Comodo AntiVirus is (AT THIS TIME) a katasrtophic
i know is it a BETA but a Virus idetification Rate from 60% is very very bad.
I have read this at three independent diffrent AntiVirus Testing Pages
and i have tested it by myself with the ITW List.

The Problem is too...people who tested first the Comodo AntiVirus and after this they know this proggi is bad, maybe they thinking that the comodo PFW is also bad, and told other poeple "dont use produkts from comodo...they are not good" i hope you understand from i talking about...

So i hope, you make your anti virus proggi fit....and i will really try it again....mybe you can told me how long the betaphase is...

I have used Kerio, Tiny Personal Firewall, Sygate, ZoneAlarm Free, Sunbelt-Kerio, and until recently ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite (free from my ISP).

I had been having a couple issues with ZA ISS, and when I saw in a review that ZA ISS was slowing down systems by 25% with all the bloat that it had bundled in... that was the final straw.  So I unistalled ZA ISS and began my search for a replacement.

The first time I had stumbled upon Comodo (having never heard the name before), I did not take the time to read the forums to understand the free philosophy... There were so many free utilities other than Firewall, that it initially felt "to good to be true"... so i deferred looking any deeper and continued my search.

I ended up trying a new version of Sunbelt-Kerio, and quickly unistalled it in favour of an old Sygate version.  Not happy with either decision, I continued my search again scouring security forums.  I was 3/4 convinced that Jetico was going to be my next attempt when I hit a thread that pointed to a PC Magazine article on Comodo Personal Firewall http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1969207,00.asp.  Here is where i realized my previous mistake to defer giving Comodo a chance.

After reading through the Comodo Forums, I immediately felt the live, vibrant community of users and Comodo personel.  No where else had I ever seen Vendor created wish lists.  So I immediately installed the Comodo Personal Firewall; and never regretted it.  Any issues I had with configuration were answered the same day, if not instantly.  The firewall is truely powerful as it is, but after reading the upcoming development additions, CPF is destined to be the greatest firewall ever; due to the collaberation of vendor and user community.  If you have ever thought... "I wish my firewall did __?__"... CPF either does it, or has it on the ToDo list.

I doubt my system will ever see another companies firewall!

 Love Comodo

i ditto this almost word for word. thanks m0ng0d for typing for me. lol. but really, i was going to say just about the exact same thing. other firewalls, the forum, the company itself, my new firewall for life, etc.

Was using Norton hated it and a friend recomended zone alarm. Well after an update I was not able to connect to the Internet using Firefox or microsofts browser tried safe mode if Firefox it was a zone alarm related issue well that mistake cost them my trust. I found Comodo's Firewall and love it . Switched to CAV and BOClean. I trust and love your products because they don't tye up my systems resources and I know I am safe. Besides any questions or concerns are answered in a timely and friendly manner. It is nice to know that there are companies that care about all of the end users rich to poor.  You have a loyal follower for the rest of my days. 110 Percent

Hi,

I'm brand new to Comodo forum and am still trying to find my way around.

I,ve been trying to update Comodo Firewall for sometime now but keep getting the message 'No updates available'. Could someone please tell whether this is normal and, if so,   how often are updates available for downloading.

Thanks,

ChasMick

ChasMick,

The firewall doesn't update except for occasionally to fix a security issue (as in, with its code).  The last update to it, I think, was earlier in the year (Feb/Mar timeframe).  Current version is 2.4.18.184.  The current focus is on the development of v3 for testing to help get a solid release.
