Hello everyone. I have been using COMODO FWP for some time now however have never posted on the forums.

Earlier today i got a E-mail from PC Security Shield offering there new firewall 5 for only 19.99.

Now, Im very happy and comfortable with Comodos, but looking at the pictures it seemed familiar. In fact.. it was IDENTICAL to CFP.   I sent them a e-mail asking support how it was different and why should i pay $20 for thier product which appeared identical to CFP w/the exception of thier logo in top left.

Sadly this was only response I got.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting PCSecurity Shield's customer support!

The Shield Firewall is powered by the Comodo engine.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and have a great day.

Best Regards, Robert D

Hi Jess, welcome.

More info here:
https://forums.comodo.com/how_can_you_help_comodo_please_we_do_need_you/what_is_this_the_shield_firewall_50-t21274.0.html

I think what it boils down to the difference is that they offer paid customer service support on CFP.

I will now close this topic. As it's legit, there's not much to discuss, unless Melih has something to add.

If you don't feel like reading the whole topic above, this post my Melih gives pretty much all information that you need:

so far the info:

background: they are licensing our engine from us (yes they pay too.. well bloody worth it imo Smiley )

new info: what was reported about them in this forum about they are a malware provider etc etc..

our reaction: oh dear.. lets check this further....

our results so far: so far our investigation reveals that they are legitimate entity (which backs up our original investigation on them prior to signingi), legal entity, BBB member, has similar deals with other security firms etc etc.

thanks

Melih

Cheers,
Ragwing
