Thanks, Melih and John!

Hehe...I just now realized that the reason I couldn't see the banners is because of my Internet filter. It was blocking images from photobucket. So when I was viewing this forum in Firefox, not even a broken image icon appeared...just a large blank space. But when I viewed it in IE, I saw the broken images. I tried viewing the source and saw the link to the images. Any how, I worked it out. They look great!

Thanks again!  Grin

Oh and one more thing

a big tip for you Melih (but you may have already decided this)

DO NOT release Comodo AV 2 UNTIL it is a ROCK SOLID stable version.

Why?

(This is why this is not off topic) 'Cos the best thing you can do to promote Comodo products and spread the word, is by issuing only the best!!! Make the Firewall, and the Anti Virus the two main flagships of your fleet, EVEN IF THIS MEANS delaying the launch/release dates.

Please, please do not be pressured into a release too early. (a delay of months for an SOLID product is far FAR more preferable to an early release of an "almost complete" one)
I have seen this mistake made with so many companies, they fail doing this, when patience would have won.
This is especially important in this case, as most users will regard a firewall and an anti virus product as essential, so those two have to be impeccable.
Anti Spyware doesn't matter as much, besides most users use (or are advised to use) more than one of that type, as redundancy of effort helps in such cases.

                        ....... Cliff

I agree Clliff

we will release the beta and then fix every single bug we can find, need our users help for that, only then will we release the production version.

Another idea (!!??)

give to people that repair systems some tools to work with
example: I install software to many computers in our community. 99% of them now cary comodo firewall. (what can be best than that?)
The problem I face though, is that sometimes no active internet conection exists, therefore no activation number is available, something that leaves me with a job half done...
A tool that will be able to create valid activation numbers, that also depend on our "code" as "a real comodo supporter", provided from your company to us that do a lot of systems, would solve my problem and help me to spread the program. For instance I do have that problem (not getting a code (for any reason)) right now. I can not create th code, so I'llk go back to sygate firewall for the particular machine.
I have five computers at home. All of them have comodo. Tens of my emails daily, advise people to use it, and usually they listen....
But it would be nice to have a code, as a member and be able to create valid numbers...

Also, I might get a greek translation if I ever get the time for it!!

thanks for listening

Pete

ps.
consider giving out to computer magazines a good promo to include your products in their cd/dvd s

You can request a bunch of numbers (just simply register on our site) which will be emailed to you.
and you can use them when you need or give it to users for them to enter it in. yes when they enter they will need internet access.

I would love to hear how we can improve this process though, pls help us.
thanks

Melih, Probably you may have the License Code to be generated automatically while installing the programs - Something like AVG.

Very "grassroots" type of approach, but there you go ~

Small independent computer tech/consultant companies that do work for small businesses (small businesses always want to save money.  Let these small IT groups know about Comodo, or at least let their techs know.  The company may want to resell large products (McAfee/Norton enterprise solutions), but the techs may not have the same interest, being more client-based.

Example:  I used to work in a dentist office, and was the most computer-knowledgeable person there  Shocked ; we used an outside source for network upgrades, new installs, etc.  Since finding out about Comodo, I let on or our regular techs know how great I thought the product line is/will be, as he has mentioned clients not wanting to shell out $100s for security (and security is a personal interest of his - "ethical hacking" and all that).

For those of us who are merely computer-savvy as opposed to computer geniuses, this is perhaps a way to let the computer geniuses know.  Smiley  I know a few other tech-minded people, and I will pass word on to them as well.

LM

PS:  When my TrendMicro license at home expires, I will use Comodo there as well as here at work; I can't install on my wife's machine tho, until we upgrade her from 98SE (what can I say, it was a free machine).

Hi,
I am new to Comodo but after trying the firewall I will be installing it on every computer I fix.
(I used to use Zonealarm Free, but yours is way better  javascript:void(0)Wink

Comodo is almost unheard of in New Zealand So I suggest that you get NZ PCword to try, review, and include on their free CD.

Hi and welcome to the forum!  Glad to hear you like the firewall so much. I e-mailed pcworld nz to put in a word but many times unless there are a lot of emails, they may ignore it. I'll see if I can round up some others to throw a few emails at them.  Wink

Clapping Well done + user-friendly job, gentlemen /+ladies?/ of COMODO! To be honest, both your firewall and AV-software have overwhelmed my initial expectations! Talk about `spreading the word` - my wife`s brother may be a `computer freak` but couldn`t experimentally `break through` the firewall of yours /from a PC adjacent to mine/. This must have influenced him better than any words Wink... Keep up the good work!

Hi and welcome,

It's good to have you with us.  And, it's good to see your brother couldn't break through CPF - which is getting stronger with each upgrade.  Wink

Also, you may want know the second beta of CAVS may be released tommorow (2nd Oct).  Check the forums for any updates.  Smiley
