Well, I gave all of my fellow LAN mates COMODO PF, and they are very happy with it. I downloaded it from Softpedia, and gave it to about 10 ppl. 3 of them have installed it for shure, and is very satisfied.

I posted it on another forum to helps spread the word, and they thought it was very snazzy. Have a look: http://www.pcbuyersguide.co.za/showthread.php?t=3514&page=2 (post 11)

So, I'm glad that I could help your community spread the word.

PS: May I give my serial to other friends to use (because some dont have internet)?

Thanks for the great help you are giving us Zizzy.
You can request new licenses, its free anyway. The license, once activated has a lifetime and sharing license keys sometime after they got activiated might not work. So pls go ahead and get as many license keys as you like and pass it to your friends..

Well, for starters...start charging for your products - ur developing some great products which can bring in revenue. It won't help trying to use these products to get ssl certs sold...i mean, when last did you see Apple giving away iPods for free so they can sell more iMacs...see what i mean?

Comodo's trying to help gain users trust for their products, that way when users see the Comodo Logo on their favorite shopping site, they will feel more comfortable shopping there. I mean sure people have heard of VeriSign but if you were a noob to computers and you were suggested to get Comodo Antivirus and you did, then you go to your favorite online shop, then you see the Comodo logo, and realize they're the same people who provide that great antivirus for free, then you feel more comfortable shopping there.

No, but Apple did give away some songs for free download when you bought an iPod. Same sort of thing. The underlying theory is that as more desktops get secured, confidence in e-commerce will increase. This will in turn drive up demand for secure e-commerce sites, and that's where Comodo will make their money. The objective is to create a secured e-commerce chain from desktop to vendor and back again.

Rather than trying to poke holes in their plan, I'd much rather support it and help in whatever small ways I can, as I believe that it is in everyones best interest to have a more secure desktop.

I agree, instead of putting down their plan, either support it or don't but please don't put it down on this forum.

What are you talking about?

We have just under 25% of the high assurance market! Look at Netcraft figures!

- Uhm...you don't issue high assurance certificates so how is this possible? Secondly...netcraft is not a good indication of market share but you know that already.

Really, who would you suggest as an independent 3rd party then? :-) The whole world seems to use netcraft as their source, from financial analysts to editors! Maybe you can enlighten us! Tell us whose figures should we trust? yours :-)

AbsynthMinded is a Competitor resellers (customer) who loves our competitor (Verisign). So we were being extra kind to try to explain to him what we are trying to do and show him to differentiate the marketing hype from the reality.

So you are right, but in a true Comodo tradition, we were trying to be nice and flexible.
