I did some stuff, and made a signature for myself.

The image links to the site and the text beneath leads to the free applications that Comodo provide. Cheesy

This is an excellent idea!

Thanks!

I'm still trying to come up with a better slogan.

I liked two thus far, one for it's greatness and one for it's comedy. Tongue
Check it out:

"Comodo - Hitler to hackers, Churchill to you" -- Tongue

Or the one I just came up with a few minutes ago:
"Comodo dragon - And let Natural Selection do the rest"

Shocked

Speaking of Comodo Products in Computer Magazines .
There are many magazines available in the market and when people read through them and see the word "FREE" , I am sure they would try them out.
Maybe you can put these free products available in the Download.com site etc(which offers free downloads)
or try contacting ITP.com, they publish a magazine in the Middle east.

I have now sended mails to Swedens biggest PC Magazines where I told them about the great masterpiece Comodo Firewall  Grin

I wrote some stuff about the firewall, and asked them to review the fw, but also include it on their cover-CDs.

 Viva Comodo

That is a great idea but it would cost Comodo money, and I don't know if they are willing to pay for CD's for free products, when they are already paying so much to develop and update them, and make products like ZTL, and Comodo Meet.

But if you are selling it for only the cost of the CD and shipping (Something like $3-$5) at places like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Staples you could reach the non-tech market

Well, this thread is rather long, but I don't think I missed a final decision on the logos. When will a decision be made on the "spread-the-word" buttons? (Or did I truly miss that bit of info?)  Sad

Attn: Justin

FYI: Fred langa was kinda busy this summer, moving house, setting up a new office, revamping his systems, so that's probably why he hasn't replied.

He is back in business now,  with a new partner to help, however he has a stack of emails to catch up on (obviously). Maybe you should try again? I might too.

-----------------------------------------

I am also established in several techie/guru forums (such as Tech-Republic, Lockergnome) and would be pleased to spread the word about.

-----------------------------------------

I like the idea of Melih doing interviews for techie press, try CNET?, explain your business model and why.

----------------------------------------

Anti Spyware sites (that are not solely concerned with their own product) may be interested in the malware side of Comodo, plus I could probably think of several anti malware sites (Castle Cops comes to mind).

----------------------------------------

What else? hmmmm target all the freeware download sites,  but here are some:

http://www.brothersoft.com/
http://www.freecreed.com/index.html
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/
http://www.freewarefiles.com/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/
http://win.softpedia.com/

My apologies if some have already been mentioned, or are already listing Comodo

Cliff

PS I am a newbie here, but already committed to helping Comodo.
Why?
Because I like the pure honesty, integrity and simplicity of the mission statement

Oh and one more thing

a big tip for you Melih (but you may have already decided this)

DO NOT release Comodo AV 2 UNTIL it is a ROCK SOLID stable version.

Why?

(This is why this is not off topic) 'Cos the best thing you can do to promote Comodo products and spread the word, is by issuing only the best!!! Make the Firewall, and the Anti Virus the two main flagships of your fleet, EVEN IF THIS MEANS delaying the launch/release dates.

Please, please do not be pressured into a release too early. (a delay of months for an SOLID product is far FAR more preferable to an early release of an "almost complete" one)
I have seen this mistake made with so many companies, they fail doing this, when patience would have won.
This is especially important in this case, as most users will regard a firewall and an anti virus product as essential, so those two have to be impeccable.
Anti Spyware doesn't matter as much, besides most users use (or are advised to use) more than one of that type, as redundancy of effort helps in such cases.
