If you find the inf files needed to intall the driver I guess you could workaround this issue. But I guess this will be difficult.
Can you confirm that the inspect.sys is
digitally signed
and that the digital signature is valid?
Yes, inspect.sys in the repair folder is digitally signed.
There's a inspect.inf and inspect_m.inf there in the same folder

That's good on xp32 there is no inf file.
You can right-click and choose install.
Check the file sizes to see if they are the same.
Please attach those inf here too

Its not working anyway, installing with the inf files does no difference.

I made another movie with me installing everything and looking for files that don't exist. I ended up copying the inspect.sys to the drivers folder manually but it doesn't work anyway. Same as before.
Don't know if you can get any useful information from this movie but here it is

I watched that video. I have no clue. Maybe to install a driver in xp64 it also needed a cat file to identify the driver as a WHQL one.
We have to cross finger and wait for a dev to look into this.

I guess there will some time before this will be fixed. How important are this inspect.sys?
Can i use comodo with this limited functionallity or should i get another firewall installed?
There are no other good free firewalls besides comodo if your using x64 in my opinion.

I don't know for sure but I guess that inspect.sys is needed to control connections.
I hope that this issue will be solved soon.
it would be better to rely on another siolution until this issue is fixed.
As soon I'll get some info I'll post here.

FYI - inspect.sys is the Stateful Packet Inspection engine.

Hello all,
I have the same "The network firewall is not functioning properly" error. I have tried all the fixes listed in this forum. I notice one thing different with my error though. When CFP 3.0.22.349 is installed my network is "unknown". As soon as i uninstall CFP3 my network is back to "mepcnet" network. Does this shed any light on my particular problem? I have spent about 9 hours trying to fix this. All help is greatly apreciated. Use Vista 32, BOClean only other virus/security program running for now.
Thanks again!

I still think this is an issue of re-installing CPF3 without deleting the old CPF3 Firewall & Common Directories on your PC and of course using something like ccleaner to remove temp files and Invalid registry entries.

Well then your wrong. Because that's not the issue.
Even on a fresh installed windows system the problem still exist.
Thats referring to the x64 version on windows xp x64. I don't know about the other versions.

Eric, as I have described here already for several times, this effect occurs even on a system that has never had any version of Comodo or other firewall on it, and it occurs even after cleaning out a system after deinstallation. There may be some conflict or problem - that's something I can accept. But why the heck does Comodo not try to be a bit more precise about what the nature of this conflict or problem ist. I can't use software that tells me "something's wrong - cannot proceed".
I can tell you that if software I delivered to a customer should exhibit such behaviour, I'd be very worried. Obviously, the Comody developers also have no clue as to what is happening here, otherwise we would have seen some statements to at least explain what the causes could be.
Personally, I'll stay with Comodo 2.4 or Kerio 4 until there is reason to believe that there is some progress to analyze and fix the notorious "network firewall [...] not functioning properly".

I have used a fresh WinXP SP2 and a fresh WinXP SP3 installation in a virtual machine and installed CFP 3 lastest version on both. Worked fine. Then I converted the harddisk from basic type to dynamic which needs a reboot. After that conversion took place the CFP showing "The network firewall is not functioning properly!" with SP2 and SP3. No difference.

Hi,
What is your host OS? What are your guest OSs: XP Pro 32 bit / 64 bit? What is architecture of your CPU: 32 bit or 64 bit? Did you installed CFP 3.0.22.349 on both guests? What is your VM application? Did you use native MS Disk Management console to convert from basic to dynamic or some third-party application? What application?
Does CFP' diagnostics run from administrative user account fix problem?

Comodo Caused Bluescreen

After running the Comodo updater, the Comodo control panel said "network firewall is not functioning properly", so i ran Comodo Diagnostics.
I clicked "Yes" to "fix" the firewall, and my computer bluescreened.
The bluescreen said:
driver_unloaded_without_cancelling_pending_operation
After restarting, my network card could not make a connection.
I had to restore Windows to regain network access.
Again, the Comodo control panel says "network firewall is not functioning properly".
