Hello,

I recently did an automatic update of the Comodo firewall on my computer and now my Windows Security Centre claims that there is no firewall turned on, despite Comodo's Firewall Security Level claiming to be on Safe Mode.

Any ideas why this might be and how I can resolve it?

Thanks.

Hallo yeboyerp,

the solution is different according to you OS (Vista or XP)

Configure and troubleshoot Windows Management Instrumentation describes them all.

If You have Windows Vista http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-vista/fix-for-windows-defender-wont-turn-on-error-in-vista/ description is more accurate even if pertains windows defender.

Hi,

Am using Windows XP with sp2.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately I am not clear on what the actual steps are to resolve the issue. The site simply tells me that I have to repair/rebuild/reset the WMI repository: rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository. I am not clear what this means actually. Is it instructing me to type "rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository " into the Run prompt?

Thanks for your clarification.

Yep. It may be needed a reboot after the task is competed.

In alternative there is a script (credits to panic) that has proven to be quite effective.
