Since you are accessing the internet currently, thought you might also have a way to do a download.  Is the uninstaller actually gone from the add/remove programs applet?  Is there anything in the Program Files/Comodo folder?  Have you tried using System Restore to get you back to a working configuration?

The uninstaller is gone, there are no CFP folders left over, the registry should be clean, as I followed the full unistall procedure, right now I am accessing the internet through a second os installed in my pc, I am thinking of downloading an uninstaller program on my memory stick, and then downloading it on the other os, but what could it be possibly find? any more ideas? You are good and helpful guy!!!

Try the system restore first, if you have a saved point going back to a working configuration.  If not, then download CFP3 to your memory stick, install it as usual, then go uninstall in safe mode.  Sometimes the CFP3 uninstaller has problems, especially in normal mode, as you can also see by the several threads on uninstall.  If your uninstall data is gone, most of the uninstaller programs have problems because they use it for at least hints on how to go about an uninstall.

As you are missing a file have you tried downloading the CIS main file from Comodo if you run it should offer a option to uninstall.

Thanks for posting back sorry for downloading the wrong file it appears it still thought you had CPF3 even though it was not working.
Thank you again.

I tried that too, got rid of COMODO in the security center, but my internet connection was still bad; after triyng everything suggested on this forum I gave up and did a complete reinstall of Windows XP; oh well, thank you very much for trying to help me out. I really appreciate that as you were very kind. I am sure Comodo firewall is a very fine product, but as many say, its uninstall procedure is a nightmare, it really screws your system up. Enough with complaining, now I have got to search for a good product as a firewall, bye for now

ENRICO

PS

For future reference, what would be the best solution just in case I end up with COMODO again? I am talking about unistalling it, there has to be a proper or better way, I am interested in knowing this now...

I have had pretty good luck uninstalling it from safe mode, but you still may have to remove some of the registry keys manually to get rid of everything.  Vista procedure is a bit more complicated because of protection.  Usually the stuff remaining is not harmful, though, just a nuisance to see.

Many thanks to PhillC02 for the tip.  I originally tried the manual uninstallation on my Vista Business computer.  That left me with no network.  Windows reported Code31 unable to load driver on my NIC.  Tried uninstalling/reinstalling it, Vista would report install failed.  Going back to the system restore point got me back online, but with Comodo.

So this time I ran the batch file - then went into device manager and changed the drivers on the 3 miniport devices with Comodo in their names to the Microsoft loopback adapter.  Then I uninstalled them.  Still no network.  I then uninstalled my NIC and scanned for hardware changes.  This time it installed it.  Oddly Vista reported the driver installer crashed, but a moment later I got the system tray success message and all is well.

I searched the drive and registry for leftovers.  The batch file missed several things but searching for cfp.exe and comodo did the trick.  I think I'm clean now.

Add me to the list of people who are flat out amazed Comodo doesn't fix this.  Unthinkable.  Unacceptable.

Hi,

Just wanted to mention.

I'm running windows vista ultimate x64 SP1 and I tried comodo before and wasn't keen on it so removed it, (all the XP machines I administrate either use no firewall (domain policy) Sophos firewall (roaming domain connections) or Zonealarm free (cos its easy for the non technicals in the family)

Anywhom I decided to install the new version of comodo and and I still didn't like it, couldn't get my limewire to function to my satisfaction and the system and connection as whole seemed slower by far.

Anyways when I removed it it left loads of crap behind which i manage to get rid of, but nothing would get rid of the miniport entries in device manager and the registry. Windows would moan the registry entry was corrupt and not allow them to be removed manually and trying to get at them in the registry gave me an access denied error. Wouldn't even let me change the ACL or owner of the objects.

So i did some playing and I came up with a solution that worked for me.

Rebooted into safe mode and logged in as administrator.

Opened device manager

Selected each comodo miniport in turn and selected update driver

Selected choose driver to install and show drivers on system

Then assigned a driver my system didn't use.

For two of the miniports (my default network adapter and ipv6 shadows i believe) i used the microsoft network monitor driver

the system complained the service wasnt running for this driver but allowed me to continue and they appeared in the networks list as microsoft network monitor  and microsoft network monitor #2 or similar

these devices could then be removed from the system.

the remaining two miniports would not use this driver (i think because i specified remove driver software on uninstall)

so i chose two random drivers (samsung and acer adapters) and followed the same procedure

for each driver i assigned the system warned this driver might not be suitable and i continued anyway.

Cannot guarantee this will work for everyone but it did for me

regedit now finds nothing when searching for comodo (I used the above specified method first to get rid of anything else lingering - this is purely for the miniports which may lurk still)

I PROVIDE NO GUARANTEES ON THIS INFORMATION - USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

I make regular images of my system drive using PING (instead of relying on system restore) and i would suggest anyone else did

I found that there is a copy of framework.dll in a subfolder of comodo firewall in program files called eithe repair or restore (i forget which). I copied the entire contents of this folder into the comodo firewall root folder and overwrote where necessary and then ran unistall again and it worked for me. Then i ran the cleaning utility here and did the miniport method i described above because they were still lurking on my system.

I'm really disappointed with this software in terms of ease of use, user friendliness, system compliance and general compatibility.

I think the development team could do with an 101 on the concept of internal BETA/ALPHA testing and change control

Is there a way anyone could upload an uninstall.exe and the necessary files to uninstall CIS instead of going by whats on the first page here? Im updated to the new CIS but with the problems i had before from upgrading to CIS from pro 3, i couldn't uninstall pro 3 cause i was missing some file which occurred when i first tried updating and it failed. I tried downloading and reinstalling CIS but without that missing file it wont uninstall and its not showing in the add/remove section even though my updates were successful. I just want the uninstaller fixed so have a choice of removing it if i want to. As of right now....i feel like im stuck with it and i dont know much bout computers so i dont want to try to attempt the tutorial on the first page. Hopefully there is a future fix for this, please reply.

Ok...guess im not using CIS im still using comodo firewall but i still cant switch to CIS cause i cant uninstall

Many thanks to everyone on this thread and in particular USSS and Ragwing whose info solved all my problems.

For those interested I was using CFP on its own but wished to upgrade to CIS. Everytime it uninstalled as part of the upgrade I lost my internet and had to use restore to get it back.Eventually I used uninstall from the program menu and then the batch file in normal mode followed by Comodo Registry cleaner and also CCleaner.I then did a clean install of CIS.All fine now and happy days , the mind boggles as to what I would have done without this forum.

Thanks again.

Does Comodo show up in the list of installed programs in Control Panel? When it is not there run the installer again to install Comodo. Once it is installed you can uninstall it again. You can consider to uninstall in safe mode. Another help with uninstalling is Revo Uninstaller.

I just tried Revo Uninstaller and it cant locate comodo either. Comodo does not show up in the uninstaller programs and the list of my installed programs. During an update it failed, the failed update delete the comodo uninstaller somehow ,this happend to me with CFP v2 but u guys had a manual uninstaller(which u had to use in command prompt and it worked). I tried many times re downloading CFP and tried reinstalling it and its says u need to delete the old one,i click on yes and NOTHING HAPPENS it doesent uninstall. Any other ideas? I was hoping someone can up the Uninstaller files for comodo and i can just copy over the ones i have to try to uninstall it. Is there an maunual uninstaller for CFP v3 like the one for CFP v2?

I've had something of the same problem before.  Here is how I got out of it:

I downloaded the CIS installer, ran it and used it to uninstall CIS.  Simple, but might not always work.
