Serious help needed - CFP v 3 has frozen my xp sp2

Thanks to all so far in this thread!
I installed v.3 yesterday from v.2.4 without incident on XP Pro SP2. Then today I changed Defense settings to Paranoid and ran a full backup. Now I can't even run Firefox or even shutdown as I am now getting
You don't have access to shutdown
and
You dont have access run program
type of messages. I can shutdown from Task Manager, but re-boot won't complete...have tried 3 times.
I am using other partition on same notebook PC. Is there a way I can edit the registry on C: (where CP3 is) from THIS partition (E:)?
All I want is to go back to 2.4 which was fine.
Thanks in advance!

Can you boot into Safe Mode?
If so, you may be able to open CFP and revert back to your original settings that worked (before you changed to Paranoid mode). You can also remove CFP in Safe Mode, if you want to downgrade to v2.4.
As for your question about editing the registry, I don't know. I would leave the registry alone for now, until you perform additional troubleshooting.

Yes. All it does is refresh the device manager and NOTHING. they are still there.

Maybe the more-important question is this:
Are the CFP Miniports causing
problems
on your system?
Yes, I heartily agree that you should be able to remove them without difficulty. However, I think this will eventually require editing of another part of the registry, and we simply don't yet know the location of the relevant keys.
I believe there is still some remnant of CFP -- besides the miniports listed in Device Manager -- that is preventing their removal. If you have not already done so, try performing a manual search of the registry for "CFP" + "miniport" and see if anything pops up.

Just a thought have you tried disabling it and rebooting before trying to remove it sorry if you already have tried this.

OK, can you be specific? Are you getting BSODs, slow performance, Internet connectivity problems? What errors are showing up in Event Viewer? Are they directly attributable to CFP Miniports?

--Windows Vista 32 bit--
With CFP installed, sometimes after startup:
-Windows Experience Index takes 5 minutes to show up in System Properties window
-Windows Live Messenger takes 5 minutes to start
-Network and Sharing Center takes 5 minutes to start
-disabling or enabling a network connection takes 5 minutes to accomplish, BUT ONLY ONCE PER SESSION
-drivers of any kind take 5 minutes to install
-IrfanView takes 10 seconds to start instead of 2
During all this time svchost.exe -k netsvcs hogs the processor, except MSN, where msnmsgr.exe is the CPU hogger. The only cure I've found is system restore or uninstalling CFP.
Upon a full CLEAN reinstall of CFP the "Comodo Firewall Miniport" is installed ONLY AFTER THE SYSTEM RESTART. At which point the network firewall reports not to be functioning properly. Install of the Comodo Firewall Miniport may or may not be successful.
If it succeeds:
-CFP Miniport will appear in the device manager under Network Adapters as a visible device, when normally it was hidden from view.
-Windows will freeze just seconds after startup, leaving only the mouse cursor running.
If it does not succeed:
-CFP Miniport will appear in device manager under Network Adapters with an exclamation mark.
-Windows will NOT freeze, and Defense+ alerts will still show up, but not firewall ones.
In BOTH cases of success and failiure CFP will, upon uninstall, leave a Comodo Firewall Miniport in Device Manager with an exclamation mark. The device cannot be removed even after performing a cleanup, neither in safe mode nor elsewhere.
I have run a search on google.
There are several other cases exactly like mine which nobody has been able to solve, even after having followed the removal instructions and the batch file on your forums.
I urge Comodo to take a look at these cases and acknowledge their existance.

All who've reported the issues were using Vista systems. I think the best thing you could do for me right now is provide me with a 32bit debug installer of CFP that'll log everything that goes right and wrong during install.

Boy, I know you wrote "latest" in all previous posts about issue. The reason i ask is to provide exact version number in report for devs even if it is evident that the matter concerns 3.0.22.349. So there is no concept "latest".
