Because you also need to add an inbound rule in the network monitor for its receiving port.

So why I don't need to add inbound settings for other applications like ICQ or Miranda ant they works fine?

Those programs don't require unsolicited packets. I don't know NHL to comment why it does.

G'day,

If you can give me the name of the executable and the version of CFP you're using, I'll see if I can work it out for you.

G'day,

You'll need to create 5 Application Monitor rules, all with "lockdown.exe" as the application. To simplify it, you could (and this is entirely optional), tell each rule to skip the parent check and allow skip advanced security checks. The five rules are as follows;

Action : ALLOW
Direction : IN/OUT
Protocol : TCP/UDP
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
Source Port : A Range of Ports : 2346 - 2348
Destination Port : A Range of Ports : 2346 - 2348

Action : ALLOW
Direction : OUT
Protocol : TCP
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
Source Port : ANY
Destination Port : 80

Action : ALLOW
Direction : IN/OUT
Protocol : TCP
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
Source Port : 6668
Destination Port : 6668

Action : ALLOW
Direction : IN/OUT
Protocol : TCP
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
Source Port : A Range of Ports : 40000 - 42999
Destination Port : A Range of Ports : 40000 - 42999

Action : ALLOW
Direction : IN/OUT
Protocol : UDP
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
Source Port : A Set of Ports : 44000, 45000
Destination Port : A Set of Ports : 44000, 45000

Let us know how these work out for you. Please note, UBISoft are renowned for using copy protection on their games. If Lockdown uses a method known as SafeDisk, this protection scheme dynamically generates executables that want to start, so you MAY get additional alerts. Take a note of the executable name anbd if it's consistent, create a rule for it.

Hope this helps,
Ewen :-)

I was referred here from the help section of your forum.
When i start the game, Age of Empires II, nothing happens after intro. The screen is just black. When i disable the firewall i can run the game fine. I have added the program to the Applications list. What do i do?

Any news on this game? I have the same problem!. I really love this game and I like CPF too, but this problem should be fixed (didn't happen with the old ZoneAlarm).

I think the motivation of he problem lies in something CPF does to wsock32.dll

Quote
Screen is black or white after introductory movie plays
When you play Age of Empires II, the screen may turn black or white and your computer may stop responding (hang) after the introductory movie plays. To resolve this issue, contact your video card hardware manufacturer to obtain and install the latest version of the driver for your video card or replace the Wsock32.dll file on the computer. For information about how to contact the manufacturer of your video card, see the "References" section of this article. If you think that you are using an outdated version of the Wsock32.dll file, extract a new copy of the Wsock32.dll file from your original Windows installation media.

As per the post above ^

Agreed, I have the exact same problem and I am not sure of how to remedy it.

The problem disappears by closing the Comodo Personal Firewall and then starting the game. Every thing then runs just fine... but of course you don't have a firewall protection any longer, which is a dangerous conduct.

I think it would be really a good think if Comodo developers could fix that, if possibile.
