After too many system crashes coming out of SLEEP S3 mode, I sent a bunch of minidumps to Microsoft and the reply was as follows:

Thanks for uploading the dump files - they were invaluable.    Both of them appear to point to inspect.sys, which according to a cursory internet search, is part of Comodo Firewall.  It appears you are not alone in this issue: http://forums.comodo.com/help_for_v2/inspectsys-t1153.15.html

You may want to check for a newer version of the firewall or NIC drivers. Best of luck!

So, I checked all of the drivers on my system and am up to date on everything.  I'm happy to provide the dumps to the folks at Comodo for debugging purposes.  Just advise where to send them.

Of course the problem isn't a hard one in that my laptop doesn't crash every time it comes out of S3, only when I'm in a hurry to get back on my system Wink.

As a test, I turned off CFP (and for my own protection turned on Windows Firewall) re-booted and tested some more.  Unfortunately, I crashed coming out of SLEEP S3 again.  I sent the dump to Microsoft and I was still failing in inspect.sys.  They recommended that instead of simply not running CFP, I delete the hidden non-plug-and-play device driver that CFP installs.  Did that exercise thru Hardware Manager and re-booted.  I checked Hardware Manager after my system restarted and the hidden device was back.  I took the extreme step of completely un-installing CFP and the problem (at least for the last 2 days) seems to be solved.

Please advise where to send the minidumps so you Comodo folks can get on with the debugging process.  I'd really like to tun CFP but if it crashes my system about every 1 in 3 wake-ups from SLEEP S3 that clearly I can't.

Thanks in advance
