Sorry if this has been asked before, but several of us were asking this on the CFPv3 forum but got no reply.

All we are told is that a stand alone scanner (CAVS) incorporated into CFP (Scan My System in Defense+) but there is no indication as to whether definition updates are received automatically with the CFP updates.

Therefore, is there any point in using this inbuilt scanner on a regular basis, other than when installing CFP and choosing 'Clean Mode'?

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Mike.

Hi MikeG

We have been told that there are no updates for the scanner at this time, and that they will be integrated into a future version.  If you have a regular virus scanner there should be no need to use this one other than at install.
